The Brighton, Worthing & District Football League is a football competition involving teams in and around Brighton, Hove and Worthing in England. It was established in 2014 following a merger between the Brighton, Hove & District League (formed 1903) and the Worthing & District League. Winners of the Premier Division may apply for promotion to the West Sussex Football League Championship South. The number of teams has steadily reduced each year with the league down to one division in 2020/21. [1] Some teams have transferred to the West Sussex League where the larger number of divisions result in more even competition.

Worthing Football Club is a semi-professional football club based in the West Tarring area of Worthing, West Sussex, England. They are currently members of the National League South and play at Woodside Road.
The Brighton, Hove & District Football League was a football competition involving teams in and around Brighton, Hove and Worthing, in England. The league was established in 1903 and reached ten divisions in size by 1967. However, with the number of clubs slowly decreasing and the league reduced to only two divisions between 2011 and 2013, a merger with the Worthing & District League began in 2014, initially with a combined Premier Division. The merger was completed in 2015 with the establishment of the Brighton, Worthing & District League.

Whitehawk F.C. is a semi-professional football club in Whitehawk, a suburb of the city of Brighton and Hove, England, which plays in the Isthmian League Premier Division. Whitehawk's home is the 3,126-capacity Enclosed Ground, within East Brighton Park. Nicknamed The Hawks, the club's traditional playing colours are red and white. Before 2010, the club had never played above County League level, but after three promotions in four seasons reached Conference South in 2013, and the second round of the FA Cup in 2015.

The Sussex Senior Cup is an annual association football knockout cup competition for men's football clubs in the English county of Sussex; the winning team is presented with the Sussex Senior Challenge Cup, the county senior cup of the Sussex FA. For sponsorship purposes the trophy is also known as the Sussex Transport Senior Challenge Cup, after a new sponsorship deal was agreed in 2023.
Sussex 1 is an English level 9 Rugby Union League. It is made up of teams predominantly from Sussex. Teams play home and away matches from September through to April. The league champions are automatically promoted up to London 3 South East, while the second placed team plays a promotion playoff against the second placed team from Kent 1. Relegated teams drop to Sussex 2 although in recent season there has been no relegation. Only 1st XV sides can be promoted into London 3 South East.

London 2 South East is an English level 7 Rugby Union League. When this division began in 1987 it was known as London 3 South East, changing to its current name ahead of the 2009–10 season. Each year all clubs in the division also take part in the RFU Intermediate Cup - a level 7 national competition.

The All England Jumping Course show jumping facility at Hickstead is situated 8 miles (13 km) north of Brighton and Hove.
