Monmouth County is a county located on the coast of central New Jersey. The county is part of the New York metropolitan area and is situated along the northern half of the Jersey Shore. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the county's population was 643,615, making it the state's fifth most populous county, representing an increase of 13,245 (2.1%) from the 2010 census, when the population was counted to be 630,380, which, in turn, represented an increase of 15,079 from 615,301 at the 2000 census. As of 2010, the county fell to the fifth-most populous county in the state, having been surpassed by Hudson County. Monmouth County's geographic area comprises 30% water.
Lincroft is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) within Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 6,135.
West Freehold is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) within Freehold Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 13,613. Due to the community's close proximity to the Battle of Monmouth, West Freehold is home to several important historical structures, which have been preserved in the 'West Freehold Village Historic District'. The historically preserved Monmouth Battlefield, along with the historic villages of Clarksburg, Englishtown, Smithburg and Tennent are a short distance away.
Brookdale Community College is a public community college in Lincroft, New Jersey. Founded in 1967, the college also has regional locations in Neptune, Freehold, Hazlet, Long Branch, and Wall.

Peter Pan (1904–1933) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse and sire, bred and raced by prominent horseman, James R. Keene. As winner of the Belmont Stakes, the Brooklyn Derby and the Brighton Handicap, he was later inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. His progeny included many famous American racehorses, including several winners of the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes.
Tanya (1902–1929) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse bred and raised in Kentucky. She was bred by William Collins Whitney and foaled at his Brookdale Farm in Lincroft, New Jersey. Sired by the outstanding English stallion Meddler, she was out of the mare Handspun.

Broomstick (1901–1931) was a Thoroughbred race horse whose most important win was in the 1904 Travers Stakes. After retirement, he became one of the great sires in American racing history, leading the North American sire list in 1913, 1914 and 1915. He was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1956.
David Dunham Withers was an American businessman and a Thoroughbred horse racing track owner and an owner/breeder. His 838-acre (3.39 km2) Brookdale Farm in the Lincroft section of Middletown Township, New Jersey, was the home of some of the finest bloodstock in the world.
William du Pont Jr. was an English-born American businessman and banker, and a prominent figure in the sport of Thoroughbred horse racing. He developed and designed more than 20 racing venues, including Fair Hill at his 5,000-acre estate in Maryland. A member of the Delaware Du Pont family, he was the son of William du Pont and Annie Rogers Zinn, and brother to Marion duPont Scott, a noted horsewoman and breeder. He, as his father, had no middle name.
The Swimming River Reservoir is a reservoir in Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is located on the border of Colts Neck, Holmdel and Lincroft. The Swimming River ends up in the reservoir, as well as other small tributaries. The reservoir was built in 1901 by the Tintern Water Company to provide fresh water; the dam was replaced in 1958. It is now managed by New Jersey American Water Company and provides drinking water for residents of Monmouth County. The reservoir has a design peak capacity of 159 megalitres per day. All drainage from Colts Neck empties into the reservoir.
Holmdel Park is located in Holmdel Township, New Jersey and is part of the Monmouth County Park System. The initial park land was established in 1962, with an additional 227 acres (92 ha) section added in 2001. Holmdel Park is also the home of the Holmdel Arboretum; aka David C. Shaw Arboretum and the Longstreet Farm, a living history farm set in the 1890s. The park is a popular destination for local elementary school trips and cross-country runners.
Pleasant Valley is an unincorporated community located within Marlboro Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The area reportedly received its name from George Washington after he went through the area in 1777. The area is hilly and forested and is dotted by medium to large-sized residences. Pleasant Valley Road and Reids Hill Road are main roads that pass through the area connecting to Routes 34, 79, and 520. A large part of land which makes up Pleasant Valley was originally granted by the King of England in 1665 to the Rev. Obadiah Holmes. In 1690, the area was settled by people of Dutch heritage and the original dominant language in the area was Low Dutch.
Walnford is an unincorporated community located along Crosswicks Creek within Upper Freehold Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. Walnford was named for Richard Waln, the original owner of the town site.
Geraldine Livingston Morgan Thompson (1872–1967) was an American social reform pioneer who became known as the "First Lady of New Jersey" due to her philanthropic and social service activities in New Jersey. Thompson owned Brookdale Farm, an 800-acre (320 ha) estate in Lincroft. In her will, Thompson left 206 acres (83 ha) of the estate to Monmouth County for a public park named for the Thompsons. Thompson Park includes the administrative headquarters of the Monmouth County Park System.
The Crescent Farm, near Canton, Georgia on Georgia State Route 5 southeast of Georgia State Route 140, is a historic property that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The listing includes two contributing buildings and a non-contributing structure, on 4 acres (1.6 ha).
The Walker, Combs, Hartshorne, Oakley Farmstead is located in the historic district of the village of West Freehold, a part of Freehold Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1686 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 14, 1990.
Thompson Park is a public park located at 805 Newman Springs Road in the Lincroft section of Middletown Township, New Jersey. The 677-acre (2.74 km2) park is operated by the Monmouth County Park System. In 1968, at the bequest of Geraldine Morgan Thompson, 215 acres (0.87 km2) of the Brookdale Farm were donated to the county to create the park. The Brookdale Farm Historic District, located in the park, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020. The visitor center is a reconstruction of the Thompson Mansion, which was destroyed by a fire in 2006. The original mansion had been remodeled and expanded by the architectural firm of Carrère and Hastings in 1896.
