Build One South Africa (BOSA), officially registered as Build One South Africa With Mmusi Maimane, [3] is a South African political party. It is led by Mmusi Maimane, the leader of the One SA Movement and the former leader of the Democratic Alliance. BOSA secured two parliamentary seats in the National Assembly at the 2024 National and Provincial Elections.
The party was launched on 24 September 2022 in Naledi, Soweto. [4] The deputy leader is Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster, founder and convener of the South African Women’s Commission. The chairperson of the party is the current Nelson Mandela Bay deputy mayor Mkhuseli Jack.
The party contested its first by-election in October 2023, winning 1% of the vote in the ward one election in Sol Plaatje Local Municipality. [5]
The party contested the 2024 general election as an "umbrella organisation" for independent candidates. [6] Maimane stood as the party's presidential candidate in the elections. [7] The party received around 0.4% of the national vote in the election. [8]

Maimane is also the former Leader of South Africa's opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) political party from 10 May 2015 to 23 October 2019, and the former Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of South Africa from 29 May 2014 to 24 October 2019. He became the first black South African to lead the DA.

Bongani Michael Baloyi is a South African politician. In 2013, he was elected Executive Mayor of the Midvaal Local Municipality. He was only 26 years old at the time, and he consequently became the youngest mayor in South Africa. From 2011 to 2013, he was the MMC for Development and Planning in the municipality.

Leonard Jones Basson is a South African politician from the North West Province. He has represented the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2014 and has been the party's provincial leader in the North West since November 2020. Tsepo Winston Mhlongo is a South African politician. As a member of the Democratic Alliance, he served as a councillor in the City of Johannesburg until the 2014 national election, when he was elected to the National Assembly of South Africa. After that, he was appointed Shadow Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform. Mhlongo became the Shadow Minister of Sport and Recreation in January 2017 before he was selected to be Shadow Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture in June 2019. On 1 December 2023, Mhlongo was expelled from the DA and lost his parliamentary membership. He has since joined ActionSA.
Michael Bagraim is a South African politician and labour lawyer. A member of the Democratic Alliance, he was elected to the National Assembly in 2014. He was then appointed Shadow Deputy Minister of Labour. In 2017, Bagraim was promoted to Shadow Minister of Labour. After the 2019 election, he was made Shadow Deputy Minister of Labour and Employment.
