The population of the province is in flux; displaced residents have slowly returned to Moxico since the end of the Angolan Civil War in 2002. Aguinaldo Jaime is an Angolan political figure and economist. He served as Minister of Finance from June 1990 to April 1992, President of the African Investment Bank, and as Central Bank Governor from 1999 to 2002. He was subsequently Deputy Prime Minister. He is also alumnus of London School of Economics.

José Pedro de Morais is an Angolan politician, who served as Minister of Finance from December 2002 to October 2008, replacing Júlio Marcelino Vieira Bessa. In January 2015, he was appointed Governor of the National Bank of Angola.

The Ministry of External Relations is the Angolan government ministry which oversees the foreign relations of Angola. Tete António is the current foreign minister since 9 April 2020.

The Ministry of Finance is a cabinet-level ministry of the government of Angola. It traces it origin to 1976, and was created as a replacement for the Portuguese colonial-period Direcção dos Serviços de Fazenda e Contabilidade. The current Minister of Finance is Vera Daves.

The Arquivo Histórico Nacional is the national archive of Angola. Overseen by the Ministry of Culture, it is headquartered in the city of Luanda on Rua Pedro Felix Machado. As of 2016 a new archives building was under construction in Camama. The Arquivo Histórico Nacional originated in the Centro Nacional de Documentação e Investigação Histórica.
