World Sailing (WS) is the world governing body for the sport of sailing recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
The Irish Sailing Association, also known as Irish Sailing, is the national governing body for sailing, powerboating and windsurfing in Ireland.
Sailing/Yachting is an Olympic sport starting from the Games of the 1st Olympiad in Athens, Greece. George Shelby Friedrichs Jr., known as "Buddy", was an American sailor and Olympic champion. He was Dragon Class World Champion in 1967 before competing at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City (sailing events in Acapulco, where he received a gold medal in the Dragon class as helmsman on the red-painted boat WILLIWAW. Serving as crew members on WILLIWAW were Gerald "Click" Schreck and Barton Jahncke.
Peter Jones Barrett was an American sailor and Olympic champion. He competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, where he received a gold medal in the star class with the boat North Star, together with Lowell North.
Unidad Deportiva Acapulco is a sports complex composed of a 13,000-seat soccer and track and field stadium and a baseball stadium which can seat thousands. The soccer/track stadium, which originally seated 8,600, is currently home to the Guerreros Acapulco soccer team of the Mexican Segunda División Profesional, which began play in 2009. The baseball stadium is currently used for amateur and semi-pro baseball, and skateboarding.
Over time, several scoring systems for Sailing were used during the Summer Olympics. Many of these systems were also used by other regatta's in their times. This tourist area is formed by the cities of Acapulco in the south, the pair of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo in the north, and Taxco in the center of the state. These cities are those that receive more tourists in Guerrero.
Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria is a private yacht club located in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. The club has around 6,000 members and their families.
