Simona Amânar is a Romanian former artistic gymnast. She is a seven-time Olympic and ten-time World Championship medalist. Amânar helped Romania win four consecutive world team titles (1994–1999),as well as the 2000 Olympic team title. She is also the 2000 Olympic all-around champion. She has a vault named after her,one of the most difficult in women's gymnastics,and was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2007.
Kimberly Lynn Zmeskal Burdette is an American retired artistic gymnast turned gymnastics coach and the 1991 World All-Around champion. A member of the silver medal-winning U.S. team from the 1991 World Championships,she was the first American woman to ever win the all-around title at the World Championships,as well as the first to win a world championship medal of any color in the all-around. A three-time United States national all-around champion (1990–92),Zmeskal is also the 1992 world champion on both balance beam and floor exercise,and was a member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. team at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona,Spain,the first U.S. team medal won at a fully attended Olympic Games. She also posted the highest optional all-around score in the qualification round in Barcelona.
Marian Drăgulescu is a former Romanian artistic gymnast. During his senior gymnastics career he won 31 medals at Olympic Games at World and European Championships,of which eight are gold medals at the World Championships and ten are gold medals at European Championships. Drăgulescu's strongest events were vault and floor,on which he was a multiple world champion and Olympic medalist. The handspring double front somersault with ½turn is named after him in the Code of Points. In the all-around,Drăgulescu was the European champion (2004) and bronze medalist (2000) and placed 8th at the 2004 Olympic Games.
Amy Yuen Yee Chow is an American former artistic gymnast who competed at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. She is best known for being a member of the Magnificent Seven,which won the United States' first team gold medal in Olympic gymnastics. She is also the first Asian-American woman to win an Olympic medal in gymnastics.
Maria Olaru is a Romanian former Olympic artistic gymnast. She is an Olympic,World,and European gold medalist with the team. Individually,she was the 1999 all-around world champion and the 2000 Olympic all-around silver medalist. Her best event was the vault on which she medaled at world and continental competitions. Olaru was one of the tallest gymnasts competing in the late 1990s,standing 160 cm. After retirement she became an assistant professor at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the West University of Timișoara.
Vanessa Marie Atler is an American former elite gymnast. She is the 1997 U.S. national all-around champion,the 1998 Goodwill Games gold medalist on the floor exercise and vault,and a four-time national champion in the individual events of vault,balance beam,and floor exercise. She is also the 1996 junior national all-around and floor champion. At the 1999 American Cup,Atler became the first female gymnast to successfully perform a Rudi vault.
Daniela Viorica Silivaș-Harper,is a Romanian former artistic gymnast best known for medaling in every single event at one Olympics,winning six medals at the 1988 Summer Games in Seoul. In doing so,she was the fourth female gymnast to achieve this,after Maria Gorokhovskaya (1952),Larisa Latynina and Věra Čáslavská(1968). As of 2024,Silivașis the last gymnast,male or female,to have accomplished this feat.
Oana Mihaela Ban is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast. She is an Olympic gold medalist with the team and a world silver medalist on beam and with the team. Her best events were the floor and the balance beam.
The Magnificent Seven was the 1996 United States Olympic women's gymnastics team that won the first ever gold medal for the United States in the women's team competition at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The seven members of the team were Shannon Miller,Dominique Moceanu,Dominique Dawes,Kerri Strug,Amy Chow,Jaycie Phelps,and team captain Amanda Borden. Miller,Dawes and Chow also won an individual gold,silver and bronze medal respectively in Atlanta. The team is perhaps best known for Strug sticking the landing of a vault to clinch the gold medal while injured.
Chellsie Marie Memmel is an American artistic gymnast. She is the 2005 world all-around champion and the 2003 world champion on the uneven bars. She was a member of the United States women's gymnastics team at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing,China.
Daiane Garcia dos Santos is a retired artistic gymnast. She is the 2003 world champion on the floor apparatus. On doing so,she became the first black gymnast to ever win an event at the World Championships as well as the first Brazilian and South American to win the competition. She represented Brazil at the 2004,2008,and 2012 Summer Olympics. Widely regarded as the most powerful tumbler of her generation by critics and fellow competitors alike,the gymnast had two eponymous skills added on the FIG code of points after being the first woman to compete them at international championships. Gina Elena Gogean is a retired artistic gymnast from Romania who competed internationally in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. During her career she won an impressive number of 30 medals at Olympic Games,world championships or continental championships. Her best events were the floor exercise,the vault and the balance beam. She was also an excellent all around gymnast winning several medals on this event,the European title in 1994,a silver Olympic medal (1996) and a silver medal at the 1993 World Championships. She helped the Romanian team win three consecutive world titles and two Olympic team medals,a silver and a bronze. Gogean was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2013. Criticized for her lack of artistry and expression,Gogean nonetheless had nearly unmatched consistency,longevity,and efficiency that made her a backbone of the Romanian team in the 1990s.
Kristen Ann Maloney is a retired gymnast from Pen Argyl,Pennsylvania,in the United States. She won bronze in the team event at the 2000 Olympic Games. Maloney was also the U.S. senior all-around national champion in 1998 and 1999 and the 1998 Goodwill Games gold medalist on the balance beam.
Dina Anatolyevna Kochetkova is a Russian gymnast who competed at the 1996 Olympics. Stylistically,she was considered by many to be the "last of the Soviets," performing difficult skills with elegant,clean technique. An element she pioneered,a full-twisting back handspring on beam,remains in the Code of Points as "the Kochetkova".

She was a key member of the Romanian team between 2006 and 2008,where she helped the Romania win team bronze medals at the 2007 World Championships and the 2008 Olympics. Individually,she is the 2007 world all-around and beam silver medallist,the 2007 and 2008 European silver medallist on the uneven bars and the 2007 bronze medallist on the balance beam. Nistor was a strong all-around competitor but her best events were balance beam and uneven bars.
Cristina Bontaş is a Romanian former artistic gymnast,who competed in international events between 1987 and 1993. Her best events were the floor exercise,the vault,and the all around. She is a world champion on floor,a double olympic medalist and a six-time world medalist. Bontaşscored a perfect ten on floor in the all around event of the 1989 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
MyKayla Brooke Skinner Harmer is an American former artistic gymnast. She was the 2020 Olympic vault silver medalist and was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. Skinner competed at the 2014 World Championships where she contributed to the U.S. team's gold medal,also winning an individual bronze medal on vault. She won 11 total medals at the USA National Championships during her senior career. She also competed for the University of Utah's gymnastics team and was a two-time NCAA champion.
