1977–2006

In the 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Anisur Rahman of CPI(M) won the Domkal assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Rejaul Karim of Congress in 2006 [12] and 2001, [11] Sadeque Reza of Congress in 1996 [10] and Sarker Mokter Hossain in 1991. [9] Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Md Abdul Bari of CPI(M) defeated Ekramul Hoque Biswas of Congress in 1987, [8] A.K.M.Hazekul Alam of IUML in 1982 [7] and Ekramul Hoque Biswas of Congress in 1977. [6] [16]
