Maheswar Murmu of CPI(M) won the Keshiary assembly seat (ST) six times in a row from 1982 to 2006, defeating Shyam Charan Mandi of Trinamool Congress in 2006 and 2001. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Gouri Tudu of Congress in 1996, Rekha Kishu of Congress in 1991, Budhan Chandra Tudu of Congress in 1987 and 1982. Khudiram Singh of CPI(M) defeated Budhan Chandra Tudu of Congress in 1977. [5]
