Fly Creek is a non-incorporated hamlet (and census-designated place) [1] three miles west of the Village of Cooperstown on conjoined NY-28/NY-80, in the Town of Otsego, in Otsego County, New York, United States. [2] The zipcode is 13337. [3] The Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard is located by the hamlet.

It is the location of the Fly Creek Grange No. 844, which is now a museum. Fly Creek Grange No. 844 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [4]

There is also a Fly Creek Historic District, which includes the grange hall. [5]

The hamlet was once served by the Southern New York Railroad, an electric trolley line that ran from Oneonta to Mohawk. [6]

It sits on a fieldstone foundation with a steep gable roof and broad overhanging eaves. The roof is surmounted by a wooden bell cote.

It was built in 1915, and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, Oscar Wenderoth. The original portion of the building is nearly square, seven bays on each side. It is built of Indiana limestone, with Concord granite trim in the Classical Revival style. It features a giant portico supported by six massive Corinthian order columns. In 1980, the building housed city offices moved from the Old City Hall.

The original three story structure was a generally rectangular block with storefronts and theater entrance on the first floor and apartments above. A theater wing projected from the rear was set at a 45-degree angle. In 1922, the theater was expanded and the entrance relocated to the center of the building. The 1922 marquee was removed in the 1970s.

It is sheathed in clapboard siding and rests on a cut stone and rubble foundation. It is located within the boundaries of the Fly Creek Historic District.

The Tepee United States historic place

The Tepee is a historic commercial building and roadside attraction located near Cherry Valley in Otsego County, New York, United States. It was built in 1954, and is a wood-frame structure sheathed in galvanized steel on a concrete foundation. It measures 50 feet tall and 42 feet in diameter. It has four levels. Attached to the tepee is an "L"-shaped wood frame building with a cross-gable roof. The building houses a gift shop and food stand.
