Galerie Philia is an international contemporary design and art gallery with locations in Mexico, Geneva, New York, and Singapore. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Background

Galerie Philia was founded in 2015 by the Attali brothers. Philia derives from ancient Greek word and means "friendship" or "affection". [5] The gallery organizes permanent and temporary exhibitions by national and international artists. [6]

In 2021, Galerie Philia opened an exhibition at Walker Tower in New York, designed by Pietro Franceschini. [7] [8]

In 2022, Galerie Philia launched "Art Brut", a sculpture workshop for young children in Breil-sur-Roya. [9] In the same year, the gallery opened the exhibition Jean Nouvel: Racines Aériennes, designed by Jean Nouvel. It was the first time that a private residence designed by Jean Nouvel was used for an art and design exhibition. [10] Galerie Philia presented a design exhibition at Cité radieuse de Marseille, featuring works by designers such as Rick Owens. [11]

In 2023, Pilar Zeta and Andrés Monnier present 'Antipodes' rock sculptures at Galerie Philia, during the Mexico City Art Week. [12] [13]

During the Milan Furniture Fair, Galerie Philia will present Desacralized, an exhibition on the theme of 'desacralisation', in the Chiesa di San Vittore e Quaranta martiri, located in the centre of Milan. [14]

Józef Hecht, also known as Joseph Hecht, was a printmaker and painter. Born and educated in Poland, he made Paris his base from 1920. Trained in classical engraving techniques, Hecht was a founder of "Atelier 17", and had a profound influence on 20th-century printmakers.

Patrick Seguin is a French gallery owner specialised in French architect-designed furniture of the 20th century, and founder of Galerie Patrick Seguin. In recognition of his work, Patrick Seguin was named ‘Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ by the French Ministry of Culture in March 2017. He is also a member of the Compagnie Nationale des Experts and of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires.

The Galerie Barbazanges was an art gallery in Paris that exhibited contemporary art between 1911 and 1928. The building was owned by a wealthy fashion designer, Paul Poiret, and the gallery was used for Poiret's "Salon d'Antin" exhibitions. The gallery showed the work of avant-garde artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Gauguin, Matisse, Chagall, and Dufy.

Michael Hue-Williams is a British art dealer and gallery director. He currently lives and works in London, and owns Albion Barn gallery in Oxfordshire.

Galerie Chalette was a private contemporary art gallery in Manhattan, New York, USA. It was founded by the married art dealers and collectors Madeleine Chalette Lejwa (1915–1996) and Arthur Lejwa (1895–1972) in February 1954. The Lejwas were refugees from the Nazi invasions of Poland and France. Initially, their gallery specialized in contemporary French and Polish prints and painting. Later they changed its focus to contemporary 20th century American and European Sculpture, and especially the work of Jean Arp.
