Handball Association of India is the governing body for handball in India. HAI is a member of the Asian Handball Federation and the International Handball Federation. [1] It is also a member of Commonwealth Handball Association and South Asian Handball Federation.
HAI replaced the Handball Federation of India as the official handball governing body in 2023. HFI was founded by Jagat Singh Chauhan from Rohtak (Haryana) who was an alumnus of YMCA College of Physical Education of Madras Chennai. He was also the first secretary general of HFI. [2]
The 1st Senior National Handball Championship was held at Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium, Rohtak, in the year 1972. Haryana won the gold medal and Vidharba got the silver medal.[ citation needed ]

The National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy, or simply Santosh Trophy, is an inter-state national football competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport's governing body in India. Hockey India plans, directs and conducts all the activities for both men's and women's field hockey in India. It is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India as the sole body responsible towards promoting the sport. It was formed after the Indian Hockey Federation was dismissed in 2008.

Netball Federation of India (NFI) is the national governing body of Netball in India. NFI is a non-profit, government funded organisation affiliated with the International Netball Federation (INF), the Asian Federation of Netball Association (AFNA) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. NFI was established in 1978 to standardise rules and regulations and to promote and develop the growth of netball in India. The Amateur Baseball Federation of India is the governing body for baseball in India. The ABFI was founded on 11 December 1983 in Rohtak, Haryana, and became a member of the WBSC Asia and the World Baseball Softball Confederation in 1985. The federation was officially recognized as the national governing body of baseball in India by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in 1991, and by the Indian Olympic Association in 2002.
The Wrestling Federation of India is the premier governing body of wrestling in India. It is headquartered in New Delhi. WFI is affiliated to the United World Wrestling. which makes it the internationally recognized wrestling regulation body of India. Currently headed by Sanjay Singh, The key role of the body is to organize the training and support of wrestlers across India for both domestic as well as international wrestling events. It also regulates wrestling in India as all other state-level wrestling federations across the country fall under its jurisdiction.
Dr. Roshan Lal Anand, also known as Dr. R. L. Anand, is an Indian former sports administrator who served as 2nd Secretary General of Asian Handball Federation from 2000 to 2013.
