The Brooklyn Nets are an American professional basketball team based in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The Nets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The team plays its home games at Barclays Center. They are one of two NBA teams located in New York City;the other is the New York Knicks.

He formerly owned the Phoenix Suns of the NBA,the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA,the Arizona Sandsharks of the Continental Indoor Soccer League,the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League,and the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball. He was also instrumental in the relocation of the original Winnipeg Jets team in the NHL to Phoenix to become the Phoenix Coyotes. In 2014,Grand Canyon University renamed its Christian based school of business after Jerry Colangelo,replacing Ken Blanchard's namesake. From December 2015 to April 2016,Colangelo served as chairman of basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers,before serving as a special advisor to the team until December 2018.
Peter Victor Ueberroth is an American sports and business executive known for his involvement in the Olympics and in Major League Baseball. A Los Angeles–based businessman,he was the chairman of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee which brought the games to Los Angeles in 1984. Ueberroth was named 1984's Time Man of the Year for his success in organizing the Olympic games.

Charles Hewes Moore Jr. was an American track and field athlete,as well as a philanthropist,businessman,and champion of societal reform. Moore won a gold medal in the 400 metre hurdles in the 1952 Summer Olympics with a time of 50.8 seconds,narrowly missing the world record of 50.6 seconds. He had set the American record during Olympic qualifying. He also ran the third leg of the second-place 4×400 metres relay at the Olympics. Moore finished second for the James E. Sullivan Award for top U.S. athlete in 1952,and was selected as one of "100 Golden Olympians" in 1996. In 1999,he was inducted into the United States National Track and Field Hall of Fame. Charles Moore,an Olympics athlete of track and field died on October 8,2020,in Laporte,Pennsylvania. He was 91 years old.
