History

Hotel RL was announced on October 21, 2014 by Red Lion Hotels Corporation as an upscale conversion hotel brand. [1] The brand targets top 80 United States urban markets and is designed to resonate with the customers who have a millennial generation mindset.[ clarification needed ][ citation needed ]

The first two Hotel RL's opened in Baltimore, Maryland and Washington DC in August and November 2015, respectively. Several more Hotel RL openings are planned in the future, [2] including at least 4 in 2016 in the cities of St. Louis, Salt Lake City, Spokane, and Olympia., [3] and 1 in 2017 in College Station, Texas. [4]

Radisson Hospitality, Inc. trading as Radisson Hotel Group, is an American multi-national hospitality group. The company started as a division of Carlson Companies, which owned Radisson Hotels, Country Inns & Suites and other brands. In 1994, Carlson signed a franchise agreement with SAS International Hotels (SIH), which SIH started to use the brand Radisson SAS in the Europe, Middle East and Africa markets. In the fourth quarter of 2017, Carlson Hotels, Inc., the holding company of the group, was renamed to Radisson Hospitality, Inc., while the listed subsidiary Rezidor Hotel Group AB, was renamed to Radisson Hospitality AB.
