The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN),formerly known as Action Congress (AC),was a Nigerian political party formed via the merger of a faction of Alliance for Democracy,the Justice Party,the Advance Congress of Democrats,and several other minor political parties in September 2006. Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi is a Nigerian politician. He is the senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. He is a senator of the 8th and 9th National Assembly. He was sacked shortly after being announced senator elect during the 2019 general elections by a Federal High Court in Abuja as Senator-elect on allegations that he was not validly elected by his political party. The Appeal Court in Abuja however overturned the decision on 30 May 2019. The lead judge held that the Federal High Court that nullified his election had no jurisdiction over the case.
The 2003 Delta State gubernatorial election occurred on April 19,2003. Incumbent Governor,PDP's James Ibori won election for a second term,defeating ANPP's Lucky Oghene Omoru and four other candidates.
The 2023 Delta State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Delta State,concurrent with elections to the Delta State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.
The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Delta State will be held on 25 February 2023,to elect the 3 federal Senators from Delta State,one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election,as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives;with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
