John Fishwick & Sons [1] was a bus company based in Leyland, Lancashire.
The company was formed in 1907 when John Fishwick moved from Wales to Leyland looking for business. He started with a steam propelled wagon from the local Leyland Motors factory in Farington. The vehicle was used to transport goods for local business until 1910 when a second petrol vehicle was bought and converted to a bus to be used to ferry passengers from Leyland to nearby Preston. [2]
After World War I, the fleet expanded and by the early 1930s the fleet consisted of eight wagons and 25 buses. During the 1950s the haulage side of the business declined and was disposed of in 1953. The company then focused solely on passenger transport and took over all of its local rivals. By the end of the 1960s the fleet had grown to over 35 buses and 11 coaches. [2]
John Fishwick & Sons ceased trading on 24 October 2015 after entering administration. [3] [4]

MTL Trust Holdings was an English bus, coach and train operator based in Liverpool. MTL was originally part of the MPTE. To comply with the Transport Act 1985, the bus operations were divested into a new independent company, Merseyside Transport Limited (MTL). Merseyside PTA retained shareholding, but the company was purchased by its management and staff in 1993. On 17 February 2000, MTL was purchased by Arriva.

Silver Star Holidays is a coach operating company based in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, Wales. Founded in 1918, its primary operation is coach holiday tours. Local bus services in Gwynedd were run by Silver Star until November 2010, when they were sold to Express Motors. Silver Star also trades under the Welsh name Seren Arian, with offices is both Caernarfon and Wrexham. The company entered administration on 6 October 2011 and ceased operation, but resumed services under new management later in the same month.

The head office of Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire is in Liverpool and was formed in 2011 following the merger of Stagecoach Merseyside and Ribble Motor Services which was the Chorley and Preston operations of Stagecoach North West.
