Labour Friends of Palestine and the Middle East (LFPME) is a parliamentary group within the British Labour Party that promotes support for Palestine and campaigns for "peace and justice in the Middle East through the implementation of international law and respect for human rights". [1] LFPME was formed in 2009 as a private company. [2] It was re-established as a private limited company in 2023. [3]
According to their website, "LFPME supports a viable two-state solution that delivers justice and freedom for the Palestinian people as called for by the overwhelming international consensus and enshrined under international law and in UN resolutions." [1]
It was chaired by Julie Elliott until 2024. The late Jo Cox was a supporter, and so is former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. [1]

Liam Dominic Byrne is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Birmingham Hodge Hill and Solihull North, previously Birmingham Hodge Hill, since 2004. He served in Prime Minister Gordon Brown's Cabinet from 2008 to 2010.
Labour Friends of Israel (LFI) is a group in the Parliament of the United Kingdom that advocates a strong bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and Israel, and seeks to strengthen ties between the British Labour Party and the Israeli Labor Party. LFI says it supports a two-state solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, with Israel recognised and secure within its borders, and the establishment of a viable Palestinian state. Elliott served as Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change from October 2013 to September 2015, with specific responsibility for renewable energy, the Green Investment Bank, and skills and supply chain issues. She has also served as chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Rugby Union and vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on State Pension Inequality for Women. Elliott was re-elected for the Labour Party in Sunderland Central at the 2019 general election with a majority of 2,964.
