Lake Dallas is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States. It is located in North Texas, northwest of the city of Dallas, on the shores of Lewisville Lake. The community's name derives from the original name of the lake. It is also one of the four communities in the Lake Cities. [4]
Lake Dallas is located at 33°7′42″N97°1′39″W / 33.12833°N 97.02750°W (33.128297, –97.027592). [5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.7 square miles (7.0 km2), of which 2.4 square miles (6.2 km2) is land and 0.31 square miles (0.8 km2), or 11.03%, is water. [6] The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Lake Dallas has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps. [7]

As of the 2020 United States census, there were 7,708 people, 2,950 households, and 2,216 families residing in the city. [9]
The city of Lake Dallas is served by the Lake Dallas Independent School District. [11] Lake Dallas is divided between the zones for Lake Dallas Elementary School and Shady Shores Elementary School. [12] All residents are zoned to Lake Dallas Middle School and Lake Dallas High School.
The library for the area is the Lake Cities Library. The Lake Dallas Independent School District employs 570 people. [13]
The North Texas Tollway Authority has completed a bridge in August 2009 linking Lake Dallas and Little Elm, Texas. The bridge connects Swisher Road in Lake Dallas with Eldorado Parkway in Little Elm. [14] A bridge previously connected the two cities, but was removed in the 1950s when the United States Army Corps of Engineers expanded Lewisville Lake. [15]

Highland Village is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States. It is a suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth, located on the south side of the far western branch of Lewisville Lake. As of the 2020 United States census the city's population was 15,899.
Little Elm is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States, and a part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It is an extended suburb of Denton; its population was 46,453 as of the 2020 census. In 2000, the census population was at 3,646. By the 2010 census, the city total had jumped to 25,898, making Little Elm one of the fastest-growing municipalities by percentage in Texas since 2000. The July 1, 2022 census estimates Little Elm's population as 55,357.

Roanoke is currently growing at a rate of 3.77% annually and its population has increased by 76.74% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 5,962 in 2010. A small part of the city extends into Tarrant. The city was originally founded after competition with Elizabethtown, located just off Highway 114. Settlers from Elizabethtown eventually moved to Roanoke permanently, and Elizabethtown currently resides as a ghost town.
