LifeTalk Radio is a network of over 200 radio stations featuring Christian music, Christian talk and teaching, and other religious programming. [1] [2] Its headquarters are in Riverside, California. [3] LifeTalk Radio is the only radio network owned by the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, [4] and is a ministry of the Adventist Media Center. [5] [6]

History

In 1991, LifeTalk Radio was founded by Paul Moore, in Yakima, Washington. [4] [7] In 2000, the network's headquarters moved to Vonore, Tennessee. [8] [4] In October 2001, Moore was given the Society of Adventist Communicators' "Award of Pioneering Innovation" for creating the network. [9] [10] In 2002, Moore retired as president of LifeTalk Radio, and was replaced by Phil Follett. [4] [7] On July 15, 2004, Steven Gallimore became president of LifeTalk Radio, and the network moved its headquarters to Collegedale, Tennessee later that year. [11] In 2011, LifeTalk Radio moved its headquarters to Simi Valley, California. [12] By 2015, the network's headquarters had been moved to Riverside, California. [3] [13]

LifeTalk Radio's first radio station, KSOH in Yakima, Washington, began broadcasting in March 1992. [14] The station was launched with an "interactive talk radio" format, airing Christian talk programming. [14] In 1996, LifeTalk Radio purchased and launched several additional stations. [1] [15] In 2000, the network was heard on 15 stations, [16] 8 of which were owned by the network. [17] By 2004, LifeTalk Radio was airing on 35 stations, [18] by 2005 it was airing on 65 stations, [19] and by 2008 the network was airing on 70 stations. [20] By 2015, the network was airing on over 100 stations. [21]

LifeTalk Radio is heard on over 73 full-time and part-time affiliates in the United States, along with 122 additional affiliates internationally. [21] LifeTalk Radio also streams through Roku. [22]

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) is an Adventist Protestant Christian denomination which is distinguished by its observance of Saturday, the seventh day of the week in the Christian (Gregorian) and the Hebrew calendar, as the Sabbath, its emphasis on the imminent Second Coming (advent) of Jesus Christ, and its annihilationist soteriology. The denomination grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the mid-19th century and it was formally established in 1863. Among its co-founders was Ellen G. Southern Adventist University is a private Seventh-day Adventist university in Collegedale, Tennessee. It is owned and operated by the Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. It was founded in 1892 in Graysville, Tennessee, as Graysville Academy and was the first Adventist school in the southern U.S. Due to the need for additional space for expansion the school relocated in 1916 and was renamed Southern Junior College. In 1944, Southern began awarding baccalaureate degrees and was renamed Southern Missionary College. In 1996 the institution started conferring master's degrees and adopted its current name.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Amazing Facts</span> Seventh-day Adventist evangelistic ministry

Amazing Facts is a non-profit Seventh-day Adventist evangelistic ministry based in Granite Bay, California, which broadcasts daily television programming worldwide. It is based on the teachings of Scripture, and especially focuses on the Three Angels' Messages of Revelation 14. Beginning as a radio program dedicated to Christian evangelism, it later expanded into television and online Bible study ministries.

It Is Written is an internationally broadcast Seventh-day Adventist Christian television program founded in 1956 by George Vandeman. Its title comes from the Gospel of Matthew: "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'" The programs are produced by the Adventist Media Center in California.

Free Speech TV (FSTV) is an American progressive news and opinion network. It was launched in 1995 and is owned and operated by Public Communicators Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in 1974. Distributed principally by Dish Network, DirecTV, and the network's live stream at freespeech.org and on Roku, Free Speech TV has run commercial free since 1995 with support from viewers and foundations. The network claims to "amplify underrepresented voices and those working on the front lines of social, economic and environmental justice," predominantly from a progressive perspective.

The Three Angels Broadcasting Network, or 3ABN, is a Christian media television and radio network which broadcasts Seventh-day Adventist religious, music and health-oriented programming, based in West Frankfort, Illinois, United States. Although it is not formally tied to any particular church or denomination, much of its programming focuses on Seventh-day Adventist theology and Adventist doctrine.

WKTA is a commercial radio station broadcasting a Spanish tropical format. Licensed to Evanston, Illinois, the station serves the Chicago metropolitan area and is owned by Polnet Communications, Ltd.

KHPT is a classic rock-formatted radio station licensed to Conroe, Texas, which simulcasts KGLK. It is owned by Urban One, and is part of a five station Houston cluster that also includes KGLK, KBXX, KKBQ and KMJQ. It is headquartered in Suite 2300 at 3 Post Oak Central in the Uptown district in Houston, Texas. KHPT's transmitter is located in Splendora, Texas, once shared with KSBJ.

Loma Linda Broadcasting Network (LLBN) is a non-profit, community and variety television, Christian broadcasting network in Loma Linda, California founded in 1996. Broadcast can be received via GloryStar Satellite Systems - Galaxy 19, Internet video streaming on each website, IPTV services such as Roku and Roku devices, Joozoor TV and many more, and Verizon FiOS and cable/low and high power TV stations in select areas. LLBN English broadcasts on Glorystar channel 105, along with LLBN Arabic on Glorystar channel 405 and LLBN Latino on Glorystar channel 505. It is located in Loma Linda which is known as one of only five blue zones worldwide from the surrounding Seventh-day Adventist community from which it draws for its programs, with values and lifestyle centered on the Seventh-day Adventist Church and from the Loma Linda University and Hospital nearby.

KCYU-LD is a low-power television station in Yakima, Washington, United States, affiliated with Fox and Telemundo. The station is owned by Imagicomm Communications, and maintains studios on West Lincoln Avenue in Yakima; its transmitter is located on Ahtanum Ridge.

WGFY is a commercial AM radio station in Charlotte, North Carolina. The station is owned by the Charlotte Advent Media Corporation and it broadcasts a Christian talk and teaching radio format as a network affiliate of LifeTalk Radio. WGFY carries hourly newscasts from the Salem Radio Network.

KZNS is a commercial AM radio station in Salt Lake City, Utah. It airs a sports radio format and is owned by Jazz Communications LLC. Programming is simulcast on co-owned KZNS-FM 97.5, licensed to Coalville, Utah. On weekdays, KZNS-AM-FM have local hosts discussing Salt Lake City and national sports. Nights and weekends, programming is supplied by Fox Sports Radio. KZNS-AM-FM are the flagship radio stations for the Utah Jazz basketball team and the Salt Lake Bees Minor League Baseball team.

WVCY is a listener-supported AM radio station licensed to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It is owned by VCY America based in Milwaukee and it broadcasts a Christian talk and teaching radio format. Nearly all of WVCY's schedule is from the national network.

WPJC is an EWTN-affiliated Catholic talk radio station licensed to Pontiac, Illinois, United States. The station is owned by 2820 Communications, Incorporated, and simulcasts its sister flagship station Catholic Spirit Radio 89.5 WSPI from Normal, IL. In 2022, 2820 Communications purchased 89.3 WUON in Morris, Illinois for $25,000.

WAYR is a non-profit radio station licensed to Fleming Island, Florida, and serving the Jacksonville metropolitan area. It broadcasts a Christian Talk and Teaching radio format, and is owned by Good Tidings Trust, Inc. It airs programs supplied by national Christian leaders and asks for donations on the air.

KNRS is an AM radio station licensed to Salt Lake City, Utah. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc.. KNRS and sister station 105.9 KNRS-FM simulcast a talk radio format. The studios are located in West Valley City and the transmitter site is located off West 2300 North Street in Salt Lake City. KNRS operates with 5,000 watts around the clock, covering most of Northern Utah. Other iHeart stations in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area include KAAZ-FM, KZHT, KJMY, and KODJ.

KSVA is a Christian radio station licensed to Albuquerque, New Mexico, named after the original Sandia View Academy campus it was founded on, broadcasting on 920 kHz AM. The station is an owned-and-operated affiliate of LifeTalk Radio.
