This is a list of monsters, mythical, legendary, and fictional that appear in the Castlevania series of games. It is by no means complete or definitive, yet.
Castlevania is an action-adventure gothic horror video game series created and developed by Konami. It has been released on various platforms, from early systems to modern consoles, as well as handheld devices such as mobile phones. The franchise has also expanded into other media, including comic books, an animated TV series and several spin-off video games.
Adrian Fahrenheit Țepeș, better known as Alucard, is a character in Konami's Castlevania series of video games. His first appearance in the series was in the 1989 game Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, but he is best known for his role in the critically acclaimed Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, released in 1997. His design in Symphony of the Night was created by Ayami Kojima, marking her first contribution to the Castlevania franchise.
Dracula Vlad Țepeș or simply known as Dracula is a fictional character from the multi-platform Castlevania video game series. A vampire and a magician, he is the main antagonist of the series and the final boss of almost every installment. He is the overall primary protagonist in the rebooted Castlevania trilogy Lords of Shadow – though he takes on his classical antagonistic role in the game Mirror of Fate— where his origin is heavily altered, as he is reimagined as being part of a holy order who eventually falls from grace and becomes the vampire Dracula.
Kid Dracula is a comical gothic-themed platform game video game, and a spinoff to Castlevania. It is simultaneously a remake and a sequel to the 1990 Famicom game Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula-kun which was released in Japan only. Konami released the title for the Game Boy in 1993 in Japan and North America.
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is a platform-adventure video game developed by Konami for the PC Engine's Super CD-ROM² System directed by Toru Hagihara. It is set in the fictional universe of the Castlevania series, where the protagonist Richter Belmont goes to save his lover Annette, who was abducted by Dracula. It was released in Japan on October 29, 1993. A direct sequel to it, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, was released in 1997. The game was remade for the Super Nintendo as Castlevania: Dracula X, and the PlayStation Portable as Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. In 2008, the original game was released for the Wii's Virtual Console service in Japan and for the North American and PAL regions in 2010.
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, known in the PAL region as simply Castlevania, is a platform video game created by Konami for the Game Boy Advance. Published as a launch title in 2001, Circle of the Moon belongs to Konami's Castlevania video game series, the premise of which centers on the eternal conflict between the vampire hunters of the Belmont clan and the vampire Dracula.
Vampire Killer is a platform-adventure video game released by Konami for the MSX2 computer on October 30, 1986. It is a parallel version of the original Castlevania, which debuted a month earlier for the Famicom Disk System under the same Japanese title. However, the MSX2 version was localized first in Europe and thus, was published without the Castlevania branding that the franchise would start using abroad in 1987 when the NES version was released in North America.
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is the third Castlevania video game produced for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was published by Konami in Japan in 1989, and in North America in 1990, and in Europe by Palcom in 1992. It was later released on the Wii Virtual Console. It is notorious for its difficulty, and like its predecessors is also notable for its highly regarded sound track.
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness action adventure game developed by Konami for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Despite development for both PlayStation 2 and Xbox, only the PlayStation 2 version was released in Japan. An Xbox version was released throughout Asia under the NTSC-J Format, with English language dialogue. A manga adaptation was also published by Tokyopop.
Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness is an action-adventure platforming video game, that was developed and published by Konami for the Nintendo 64. It was released in North America on November 30, 1999 and is a prequel and expanded version to the first Castlevania game on the Nintendo 64, but also contains a remake of the original game with improved graphics, added villains, and alternate versions of some levels.
Castlevania Legends is the third Castlevania title released for the original Game Boy. It was released in Japan on November 27, 1997 and in North America on March 11, 1998.
Super Castlevania IV is a 1991 platform game developed and published by Konami. Released originally for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, it has been re-released multiple times, including for the Super NES Classic Edition.
Haunted Castle is a side-scrolling platform game released by Konami for the arcades in 1988. The game serves as an adaptation of the original Castlevania, but was not marketed as part of the series outside Japan. Unlike VS. Castlevania, it is not a direct port of the NES version, but rather it is a completely new game running on custom JAMMA-based hardware.
Castlevania Chronicles is a platform video game developed by Konami for the PlayStation. It is a port of a game originally released for the Sharp X68000 home computer in 1993 as simply Akumajō Dracula. This Castlevania Chronicles port adds a number of features, including an Arranged Mode for new players. Castlevania Chronicles is a remake of the original Castlevania for the Nintendo Entertainment System, where the vampire hunter Simon Belmont must defeat Dracula and save Transylvania.
Akumajō Dracula is the Japanese name for the Castlevania video game series, as it is known as outside Japan. Several games, in Japan, within the series share the Akumajō Dracula name:
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is a platform-adventure game and the third Nintendo DS installment of the Castlevania franchise. Directed by Akihiro Minakata, with long time producer Koji Igarashi returning. It is the last action-adventure Castlevania game that Igarashi produced. The plot involves Shanoa, who is part of an organization set to defeat Dracula after the Belmont clan has vanished.
Castlevania Judgment, is a 3D fighting video game developed by Konami and Eighting for the Wii. The game is based on the Castlevania series of games, and is the series' first fighting game.
Castlevania: The Arcade, released in Japan as Akumajō Dracula: The Arcade, is an arcade game in the Castlevania franchise by Konami. The game was announced on July 23, 2008. The game was released in Japan on October 2, 2009. A European release was announced for 2009 but only ever appeared at test locations in 2008.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is a platform-adventure game that is part of the Castlevania series. The game was first leaked as an OFLCA Rating on May 27, 2010, then officially announced for Xbox Live Summer of Gaming 2010. Later in the year, the game was unveiled as a playable demo in the Konami booth at the E3 Convention of 2010. It was released worldwide on August 4, 2010 for the Xbox Live Arcade and September 27, 2011 for the PlayStation Network.

It was ported to cartridge format and released in North America for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in May 1987 and in Europe in 1988. Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula-kun is a platformer video game made by Konami. It was released only in Japan for the Famicom on 19 October 1990. It is considered a parody of the Castlevania series. A version for mobile phones was also released on 30 June 2006 in Japan only.
