The Unicoi Mountains are a mountain range rising along the border between Tennessee and North Carolina in the southeastern United States. They are part of the Blue Ridge Mountain Province of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The Unicois are located immediately south of the Great Smoky Mountains and immediately west of the Cheoah Mountains. Most of the range is protected as a national forest, namely the Cherokee National Forest on the Tennessee side and the Nantahala National Forest on the North Carolina side— although some parts have been designated as wilderness areas and are thus more strictly regulated.

Pickett Civilian Conservation Corps Memorial State Park is a Tennessee state park in the upper Cumberland Mountains. It is located in Pickett County, northeast of the city of Jamestown, and is adjacent to the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The park is located on 19,200 acres (78 km2) of wilderness including caves, natural bridges, and other rock formations. About 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) are managed by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation as a state park, and the remainder of the property is managed by the Tennessee Division of Forestry as a state forest.

Turtletown is an unincorporated community in Polk County, Tennessee, United States. Turtletown is located on Tennessee State Route 68 6.5 miles (10.5 km) north-northeast of Ducktown. Turtletown is in a primarily mountainous terrain, covered in forests except for areas cleared by farmers, ponds, or roads. Turtletown has a post office with ZIP code 37391. Turtletown's borders, however, in the eyes of some are disputed. According to one, parts of it are known as Dogtown, which appears on a few local maps. However, to others, it is simply all Turtletown and Dogtown does not exist. The only known map that contains this is the USGS map of the area, and a U.S. Forest Service map. There is an abandoned school, Turtletown School, across the street from the Post Office.
State Route 133 is a state route in northeastern Tennessee in Johnson County. It begins at Shady Valley and runs northward for about 11 miles (18 km) to the Tennessee–Virginia state border.
