It includes persons who are from (or whose ancestry is from) the Mesopotamian Neo-Aramaic speaking populations descendants of the Ancient Assyrians and Mesopotamians, originating in Iraq, north western Iran, north eastern Syria and south eastern Turkey.

AD (February 1917) Hakim Freidoun Atouraya, Rabbie Benyamin Arsanis and Dr. Baba Bet-Parhad establish the first Assyrian political party, the Assyrian Socialist Party.
