This list ranks the largest retail companies, according to the British international consulting firm Deloitte.

By revenue

Companies are ordered by revenue from retail operations in millions of US Dollars in FY 2020. [1] Carrefour S.A. was excluded from 2020's report at the company’s request. The list does not include Wakefern Food Corporation with revenue of US$16.3 billion in 2017. [2]

Wakefern was the largest private employer in New Jersey in 2018, with 40,200 employees. As of 2023, Wakefern has 48 member companies who own and operate 365 supermarkets, under the ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Dearborn Market, Gourmet Garage, and Fairway Market brands in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
