This is a list of supercouples, fictional couples who have been titled supercouples by the media, usually with the addition of substantial fan support; they may have been referred to as power couples or dynamic duos, and are often defined by a standard set of criteria or circumstances; these circumstances include mania (significant press and media attention being placed on the couple, having to do with charm rather than negativity), the couple being labeled a supercouple by valid sources, the couple having notably impacted popular culture (such as by mania or by becoming a de facto symbol for its genre), and having been listed as an all-time top romance. Each of these examples have been identified by scholars, critics and press as defining supercouples. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Now, with Season 4's October 7 premiere just under a month away, we hit up executive producer Marc Guggenheim for the lowdown on how Starling City's supercouple has spent their summer.
After months of waiting, it's official: this on-again, off-again power couple is the new Ross and Rachel. Somehow, those two dragged their will-they-or-won't-theys over an agonizing 10 seasons of Friends. And now it looks like "Olicity" is about to do the same on Arrow.
She's not wearing her engagement ring, which Oliver put back on her finger while she was lying in the hospital bed. This is huge, obviously, and there definitely seems to be some tension between the super-power couple.
Just a few more hours until Arrow Season 7 brings our favorite superhero power couple back and put them through more trials and tribulations
Viewers met someone very important to Olicity on Monday night's episode of Arrow— the power couple's daughter, Mia Smoak!
The supercouple's fans got an unexpected treat when a recent episode flashed forward to the joyous birth of she who would be named Mia.
Oliver putting his ring back on should be quite a moment for Oliver and Felicity fans. Arrow will be without the power couple for the show's final season, so this at least keeps her present.
But every single one of them, and every other near-miss or full-on kiss between the 'Arrow' power couple, pale in comparison to one tiny exchange in season four's second episode, 'The Candidate'.
6. D'Anna Biers/Three of Battlestar Galactica – Tricksy D'Anna is on a deadly murder-suicide rampage, not to mention craftily undermining supercouple Six and Gaius with her torrid Three-somes.
The Big Bang Theory season 8 has some big revelations and confessions in store for its power couples, Penny and Leonard; and Amy and Sheldon in its finale episode.
Yes, the power couple was no longer a power couple the last time we checked.
The Course of True Love… For you Bones and Booth fans out there, I've got good news, and I've got bad news: On the up side, executive producer Stephen Nathan told me, "We love the romantic comedy, so that, of course, will not go away." However, and this is the bad part, when pressed about the romantic future of screwball-comedy supercouple Booth and Bones, creator Hart Hanson told the assembled crowd at the Emmy theater, "Something goes out of a series when those characters sleep together." (Grumble, grumble...)
Hotly anticipated since the pilot was announced in November, the series will follow Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), the daughter of Boy Meets World super-couple Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel), and her BFF Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), as they embark on 7th grade in New York City — where Cory and Topanga moved in the Boy series finale.
Why Shawn and Angela from 'Boy Meets World' were the most groundbreaking teen power couple of the '90s...
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Buffy Kills Angel – You're not surprised we're putting this here are you? Before you accuse of being Buffy fanboys (a charge we cannot deny) first we'll just point out the impact of this moment. Nobody really believed it would come to this. It seems about as likely as Dawson taking an axe to Joey Potter. Even after a couple of brutal deaths on the show, surely Joss Whedon wouldn't separate his newly minted super couple.
(54) Every soap has its reigning couples that ache to be together and manage to do so in spite of everything. The word "supercouple" was minted for this. Buffy and Angel are a supercouple, a couple that has an intense chemistry on screen and whose union is a bona fide challenge to the world. Angel is a version of the boy "from the wrong side of the track" who tries to better himself and seeks redemption through the love of the woman he loves (like Luke on General Hospital or Patch on Days of our lives). Lovers face dangers together and this binds them. But it's in the modes in which love between Buffy and Angel is portrayed that the series follows soap's style, first and foremost for the melodramatic tone, as we said before, but for other elements too.
Many fans disliked him for since he split up the Charmed supercouple of Piper and Leo
For example, the day-time soap-opera "super couple" can finally be getting married after years of obstacles and tribulations... Or, for a prime-time example, after multiple seasons of highly touted "sexual tension" in the long-running comedy series Cheers, Sam Malone and Diane Chambers could finally get engaged, but Shelley Long's career aspirations could take her character out of the marriage plot (and right out of the diegesis) without bringing the series to an end.
And speaking of the would-be primetime supercouple, for Chuck and Sarah (Strahovski) in season three … well, it's complicated, mostly because of Chuck's new abilities and his new commitment to using them in his spy guy job.
"Fimogen" is the portmanteau of Degrassi's lesbian super-couple Fiona Coyne and Imogen Moreno
It seems like something always gets in the way of the inevitable Barry/Iris power couple. At the beginning of Season 2, before Patty came into the picture, Kreisberg had said that the loss of Eddie (Rick Cosnett) in the Season 1 finale weighed too heavily on the pair for them to get romantic with each other just yet.
A rift between the power couple grew as Iris broke off the engagement.
When last seen, Friends supercouple Monica and Chandler were celebrating their engagement. Now there's buzz that a lavish wedding could take place this fall.

What's your take? Would you have liked to see Meredith be given a more formidable rival? Or can no mere mortal stand in the way of the Mer-Der romance?
Only ten of the many memorable moments in the relationship of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey), and only ten of the many reasons why they are the original power couple of Grey's and possibly the power couple of the television decade.
Over time, Lexie and Mark became one of the super couples on the series.
In fewer than three minutes, "HIMYM" perfectly capture's Marshall and Lily's super-couple chemistry, Jason Segal's unique contribution to this world and the series' ability to be at its very best when delving into completely irrelevant asides.
Now on to the super couple - no not Kate and Sawyer even though that strawberry flavored kiss was extremely hot. I'm actually talking about Sun and Jin. Jin's revelation (he knew his wife was unfaithful) was an example of what makes Sun/Jin stand out from all the others. No other back-story on the show intrigues me more than theirs. They are the most captivating.
its first all-female three-way sex scene and the far-fetched reemergence of relations between the show's super-couple Bette Porter and Tina Kennard (Jennifer Beals and Laurel Holloman).
NCIS power couple Tony and Ziva (or Tiva to hardcore fans) may just be slow-dancing in the April 23 episode, but their eyes will be communicating so much more!
I think Seth and Summer are this generation's Luke and Laura. A tried-and-true supercouple.
Trouble is brewing for Dunder-Mifflin supercouple Jim and Pam.
Guess what, dearies? None other than Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) are gracing the cover of this week's Entertainment Weekly! Take a look at this gorgeous Fairy Tale Land power couple and head over to their site for the full story.
"One Tree Hill" is still working on transitioning into its new form after getting rid of supercouple Leyton last season. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be working hard enough, as this week's episode was pretty darn boring.
Lucas and Peyton's absence in next season's most momentous event, as they've been doing occasionally since the super couple left the show for good.
Why do you think Nathan & Haley (Naley) have become One Tree Hill's "super couple"?
'One Tree Hill' super-couple Nathan (James Lafferty) and Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) have faced their fair share of troubles over the past eight seasons — limo crashes, high-school pregnancies and tabloid scandals come to mind...
The show runner extraordinaire tells us he wouldn't be against an onscreen reunion between John and Christa Miller (Scrubs supercouple Perry & Jordan), saying: "I think enough time has passed that they're not husband and wife anymore."
Clark and Lana that will once again make clear that they are the sexiest, deepest and most romantic couple on television–even though they have never actually been together. They are definitely in the running for the most star-crossed would-be lovers in the history of the medium, having been kept apart longer than Luke and Laura, Bo and Hope, John and Marlena or any daytime drama super-couple you care to mention.
The immediately good news is that while rumors are swirling that a Clark/Lois wedding may take place before the series flies away for good, fans of the supercouple to end all supercouples won't have to wait four months for out-of-this-world romance.
So break out the crowns and sashes 'cause we're about to reveal 2015's Top TV Couple...The Vampire Diaries' Stefan and Caroline! Sorry, Damon and Elena, it looks like there's a new power-couple in Mystic Falls. (Of course, we think Delena, who won our Best TV Couple of All Time tournament, will be juuust fine!)
