MCR Hotels is an American hotel owner-operator. It is the third largest hotel owner in the United States by room count, [3] with 25,000 rooms and hotels that include The High Line and TWA hotels. [4]
MCR Hotels was founded by Tyler Morse in 2006. Its first hotel was built in Huntsville, Alabama the same year. In 2012, MCR Hotels purchased a historic dormitory of General Theological Seminary that was built in 1895. [5] The building was converted into The High Line Hotel which was opened in May 2013. [6]
In 2015, MCR and JetBlue negotiated the rights to turn the head house of the TWA Flight Center into a new hotel. [7] The TWA Hotel opened on May 15, 2019 [8] and is the only hotel operating within the boundaries of JFK Airport. [9] By 2019, the company owned 90 hotels in 29 states. [10]
MCR purchased the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in 2020 along with Island Capital Group. [11] The same year, it also purchased the cloud-based property management system StayNTouch [12] and the Royalton Hotel with plans to renovate the property. [13]
In 2021, MCR Hotels purchased the Lexington Hotel in New York City. [14] It also purchased the Housekeeping software firm Optii the same year. [15]
MCR acquired the former Hotel Constance out of bankruptcy in 2022. The same year, it re-opened the hotel under the name Pasadena Hotel & Pool after $4 million in renovations. [16] MCR acquired a 99-year lease on the Gramercy Park Hotel in 2023, with plans to reopen the hotel in 2025. [4]
On February 21, 2024, BT Group announced the sale of London's BT Tower to MCR Hotels for £275 million, with plans to repurpose the landmark communications tower as an iconic hotel. [17]

The Sundrome, later TWA Domestic Terminal and Terminal 6, was one of several terminals at John F. Kennedy International Airport. It was designed by I. M. Pei & Partners. Opened in 1969, it was initially used by National Airlines. It had been occupied at various times by Trans World Airlines, Pan Am, United Airlines, ATA Airlines, Pan American Airways (1996–1998), Carnival Airlines, Vanguard Airlines, and America West Airlines. Most recently, from 1998 to 2008, Terminal 6 was the home of JetBlue. It became vacant on October 22, 2008, when JetBlue moved to Terminal 5, and finally demolished in 2011.
Gramercy Park Hotel was a luxury hotel located at 2 Lexington Avenue, in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, adjacent to the park of the same name. It was known for its rich history. Originally opened in 1925, the hotel ceased operations in 2020 and was purchased by MCR Hotels in 2023 with plans to re-open in 2025.
The TWA Flight Center, also known as the Trans World Flight Center, is an airport terminal and hotel complex at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City. The original terminal building, or head house, operated as a terminal from 1962 to 2001 and was adaptively repurposed in 2017 as part of the TWA Hotel. The head house is partially encircled by a replacement terminal building completed in 2008, and flanked by two buildings added for the hotel. The replacement terminal is home to JetBlue's JFK operations. The head house and terminal are collectively known as Terminal 5 or T5.
The Royalton Hotel is a hotel at 44 West 44th Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, United States. The hotel, opened in 1898, was designed by architecture firm Rossiter & Wright and developed by civil engineer Edward G. Bailey. The 13-story building is made of brick, stone, terracotta, and iron. The hotel's lobby, which connects 43rd and 44th Streets, contains a bar and restaurant. The upper stories originally featured 90 apartments, but these were replaced with 205 guestrooms when Philippe Starck and Gruzen Samton Steinglass Architects converted the Royalton to a boutique hotel in the 1980s.
