Radio stations from Toronto can also be heard in some parts of the area. CJED-FM and CFLZ-FM have a city-grade signal of Buffalo and nearby suburbs, while the latter's transmitter is located less than 5 miles away from downtown. [2] Rimshot signals from Rochester are also sometimes audible in Buffalo.
Energy Radio Buffalo previously operated a rimshot signal targeting Buffalo from Little Valley using the signal of WGWE; it continues to operate as a webcast.

Although no cable stations are currently, as of 2017, based in Buffalo, Charter Communications has an affiliate and news bureau in the city, as does Spectrum Sports (until its closure in 2017) and MSG Western New York. Channels that have previously been headquartered in Buffalo include Pinwheel/Nickelodeon (1979 to 1981), Empire Sports Network (1991 to 2005), and Bridges TV (2004 to 2012).
In addition, Buffalo residents can also pick-up stations from the neighbouring Greater Toronto Area with a suitable aerial antenna or cable subscription. CTV flagship station CFTO/Toronto and CBC flagship CBLT/Toronto are carried on Charter/Spectrum and Atlantic Broadband in the immediate Buffalo/Niagara Falls areas, according to their channel lineups.

CHCH-DT is an independent television station in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Owned by Channel Zero, the station maintains studios on Innovation Drive in the west end of Hamilton; prior to 2021, it was located near the corner of Jackson and Caroline streets in downtown Hamilton for nearly 65 years. Western New York (WNY) is the westernmost region of the U.S. state of New York. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 15,429,900, or about 54,600 per weekday as of the second quarter of 2024.

Buffalo–Exchange Street station is an Amtrak station in Buffalo, New York. The station serves six Amtrak trains daily: two daily Empire Service round trips between Niagara Falls and New York City and one Maple Leaf round trip between Toronto and New York City. The October 2006 Buffalo storm was an unusual early-season lake effect snow storm that hit the Buffalo, New York, area and other surrounding areas of the United States and Canada, from the afternoon of Thursday, October 12 through the morning of Friday, October 13, 2006. It was called Lake Storm Aphid by the National Weather Service office in Buffalo, in accordance with their naming scheme for lake-effect snowstorms for that year, which related to insects, though locals never used that terminology and have simply referred to it as the October Surprise or the October Storm or Arborgeddon.
