The Memphis Medical District is an area which was created to provide a central location for medical care, serving both Memphis and the Mid-South.
Relatively small in area, the district is located in Midtown. The Medical District overlaps some of the area known as Crosstown.
Anchored by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, the district is home to major hospitals, emergency rooms, physicians' offices, medical supply manufacturers and distributors, and medical laboratories. It will soon house the headquarters of BioMedical Works. Some of the hospitals and health service providers in this district include:

Marion is a city in and the county seat of Crittenden County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 12,345 at the 2010 census, a 38.7% increase since 2000. The city is part of the Memphis metropolitan area. It is the second largest city in Crittenden County, behind West Memphis.
Meharry Medical College is a historically black medical school affiliated with the United Methodist Church and located in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 1876 as the Medical Department of Central Tennessee College, it was the first medical school for African Americans in the South. This region had the highest proportion of this ethnicity, but they were excluded from many public and private segregated institutions of higher education, particularly after the end of Reconstruction.
The Texas Medical Center (TMC) is a 2.1-square-mile (5.4 km2) medical district and neighborhood in south-central Houston, Texas, immediately south of the Museum District and west of Texas State Highway 288. Over 60 medical institutions, largely concentrated in a triangular area between Brays Bayou, Rice University, and Hermann Park, are members of the Texas Medical Center Corporation—a non-profit umbrella organization—which constitutes the largest medical complex in the world. As of 2010, US News and World Report ranked the College of Pharmacy 17th among American pharmacy schools.

Le Bonheur Children's Hospital is a 255-bed, tertiary care children's hospital located in Downtown Memphis, Tennessee. Le Bonheur has more than 700 medical staff representing 40 pediatric specialties. Approximately 170 patients per day are admitted, mostly from Tennessee and nearby states but also from around the world, mainly due to its nationally recognized brain tumor program, affiliation with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and for being the home of the Children's Foundation Research Center. The hospital treats infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21.
The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is a public medical school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is the health sciences branch of the University of Oklahoma and serves as the primary place of instruction for many of Oklahoma's health professions. It is one of only four health centers in the United States with seven professional colleges.
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis is a 706-bed medical facility in Memphis, Tennessee. This hospital, built in 1979, is now the flagship of Baptist Memorial Health Care since the closure of the Madison Campus in the Medical District, Memphis in 2000, which dated from 1912. Baptist Memorial Healthcare operates 14 Hospitals and numerous clinics in the three states surrounding the Memphis area. The former Madison Campus has been redeveloped by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Westwood is a neighborhood located in southern Memphis, Tennessee, United States, west of Whitehaven. The neighborhood is home to recreational facilities, businesses, schools and churches; including the more than 4,000 member Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Westwood/ Charles Powell Community Center, Westwood Shopping Center, Freedom Preparatory Academy-Westwood Elementary and Westwood High School are focal-points of the community. The oldest public medical school in Tennessee, the UT College of Medicine is a LCME-accredited member of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and awards graduates of the four-year program Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees. The college's primary focus is to provide practicing health professionals for the state of Tennessee.
Csaba P. Kovesdy is an American nephrologist and a professor of medicine–nephrology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as well as Chief of Nephrology at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is also affiliated with Methodist Hospitals of Memphis and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, also in Memphis.
The Pinch District is a historical district of downtown Memphis roughly bordered by the Wolf River lagoon on the west, Market Street on the south, Danny Thomas Boulevard on the east, and A.W. Willis Avenue on the north.
