Edwinstowe is a large English village in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, associated with the legends of Robin Hood and Maid Marian and known for the proximity of Thoresby Colliery. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 5,188. A 2019 estimate put it at 5,261.

Barnsdale is historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Barnsdale lies in the immediate vicinity north and northwest of Doncaster, and which was formerly forested and a place of royal hunts, and also renowned as a haunt of the outlaw Robin Hood in early ballads.

Western Avenue extends south as a continuous road to the Dixie Highway at Sibley Boulevard in Dixmoor, giving the road a total length of 27.38 miles (44.06 km). Western Avenue, after turning into Asbury Ave, runs out on the north side at Green Bay Road in Evanston and on the south side at Crete-Monee Road in Crete. However, Western Avenue extends intermittently through the Southland to the Will / Kankakee county border in unincorporated Will Township. Within Chicago's grid street system, Western Avenue is 2400 West, three miles west of State Street.

Sherwood Forest is an area within the town of Becket, Massachusetts. Originally established as a vacation community in the 1960s, the Sherwood Forest Road Maintenance District was established in 1982 with the approval of the Massachusetts State Senate and signed into existence by Governor of Massachusetts Edward J. King. The Sherwood Forest Lake District was established in 2010 to take over maintenance of the community's three lakes and their associated dams.

In addition to the Sherwood Forest subdivision, the area also includes the Castleton Gardens and Charlestowne Manor subdivisions. The area is bisected by McMullen Creek and is bounded by Sardis Road to the south, Rama Road to the southeast, and by the former Seaboard Air Line Railroad, now CSXT to the northeast, Sharon Amity Road to the north, and Randolph Road to the west. The area's dominant architectural style is the ranch-style house with brick or wood exterior. Burnside Street is a major thoroughfare of Portland, in the U.S. state of Oregon, and one of a few east–west streets that run uninterrupted on both sides of the Willamette River. It serves as the dividing line between North Portland and South Portland. Its namesake bridge, Burnside Bridge, is one of the most heavily traversed in Portland. In Gresham between approximately the east 18300 block to Mt. Hood Hwy, Burnside runs southeast–northwest and is no longer the divide between northeast and southeast on the City of Portland-Multnomah County street grid. Additionally, SE Burnside St becomes NW Burnside Road at SE 202nd/NW Birdsdale Ave, and NE Burnside Rd at N Main Ave in Gresham. Burnside Road's eastern terminus is where it meets Mt. Hood Hwy (US-26), E Powell Blvd (US-26), and SE Powell Valley Road.
