Merrigum Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Merrigum in the Goulburn Valley region, Victoria, Australia. The club is known as The Bulldogs. [1]

History

The first evidence of football in the Merrigum area was in 1902, when the football club applied to the Park Trustees to erect goals on the local oval. [2]

In 1905, Merrigum hosted Cooma in a game and won by one point. [3]

Merrigum lost their 1932 Goulburn Valley Central Junior Football League 1st semi final to Stanhope [4] prior to joining the Kyabram & District Football League in 1933.

Kyabram is a town in north central Victoria, Australia. Kyabram is located in the centre of a rich irrigation district in the Goulburn River Valley, 200 kilometres (120 mi) north of Melbourne. It is the second-largest town in the Shire of Campaspe, situated between the towns of Echuca and Shepparton and is close to the Murray River, Goulburn River, Campaspe River and Waranga Basin. Yea Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the Victorian town of Yea. The club competes in the Outer East Football Netball League.
