Ministry of Industries is one of the main ministries in the Maharashtra Government. Mumbai is the state capital of Maharashtra. Mumbai is also the financial, commercial, [2] and the entertainment capital of India. It is also one of the world's top ten centres of commerce in terms of global financial flow, [3] generating 6.16% of India's GDP, [4] and accounting for 25% of industrial output, 70% of maritime trade in India (Mumbai Port Trust and JNPT), [5] and 70% of capital transactions to India's economy. [6] [7] The Maharashtra state houses important financial institutions and the corporate headquarters of numerous Indian companies and multinational corporations.
Directorate of Industries is an executive arm of the Ministry and is responsible for implementation of government policies for development of industries in Maharashtra. [8]

Nashik, Marathi: [naːʃik], formerly Nasik) is a city in the northern region of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Situated on the banks of the river Godavari. The population of Nashik city is around 2.2 million and is emerging as one of the fastest-growing cities in India. Nashik is located about 165 km (103 mi) northeast of the state capital Mumbai, and about 210 km (130 mi) north of Pune. The Mumbai-Pune-Nashik region is called the "Golden Triangle of Maharashtra". With its high agricultural production, Nashik is dubbed the Napa Valley of India and the "Wine Capital of India" as more than half of India's vineyards and wineries are located here. Around 90% of all Indian wine comes from the Nashik Valley. Nashik is one of the Hindu pilgrimage sites of the Kumbh Mela, which is held every 12 years.

Narayan Tatu Rane is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He currently serves as Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Second Modi ministry. The Mumbai–Pune Expressway is India's first 6-lane wide concrete, access-controlled tolled expressway. Poonam Mahajan is an Indian politician who serves as the Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Mumbai North Central, Constituency, Maharashtra. She is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She has served as the National President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, from December 2016 to September 2020. Mahajan was the President of the Basketball Federation of India, the first female to hold this position. In addition, she currently serves as Chair of the Maharashtra State Animal Welfare Board.
