The Government of Maharashtra is the state governing authority for the state of Maharashtra, India. It is a democratically elected government with 288 MLAs elected to the Vidhan Sabha for a five-year term.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs is the ministry in the Government of India which was carved out of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and created on 29 January 2006. It is the apex body for the central government's regulatory and developmental programmes for the minority religious communities and minority linguistic communities in India, which include Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains notified as minority religious communities in The Gazette of India under Section 2(c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
Abdul Rahman Antulay was an Indian politician. Antulay was a union minister for Minority Affairs and a Member of Parliament in the 14th Lok Sabha of India. Earlier he had been the Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra, but was forced to resign after being convicted by the Bombay High Court on charges that he had extorted money for a trust fund he managed. Later, the Supreme Court of India gave him clean chit in that case.
Fouzia Khan or Fauzia Tahseen Khan, also known as Fauzia Khan, is an Indian politician of the Nationalist Congress Party. She is a member of the Rajya Sabha the upper house of Indian Parliament from Maharashtra. She is the National president of Nationalist Mahila Congress, an Ex-Minister of State of Government of Maharashtra in India. She was two time M.L.C. i.e. member of Legislative Council the upper house of Maharashtra Legislature. Convent-educated Khan is the first Muslim woman in the state who has served as minister in the Maharashtra government.

In 2014 it was announced that the Haj Committee will be opened in every district of the State.
