Miss Belize is a national beauty pageant in Belize and later to Miss Universe.

History

In the early days of the pageant there was one pageant held yearly to select a Belizean representative for the Miss Universe pageant, with either the same winner or a runner-up representing Belize at Miss World.[ citation needed ] Recently[ when? ] there have been the emergence of different pageants to select representatives for the different international pageants as opposed to just one pageant with several winners.[ citation needed ]

2008

2008 Miss Belize Universe Tanisha Vernon spoke out "against Pageants Belize, owner, and only employee – Margaret Johnson". [1] Her crown was then revoked in July 2008. [2]

2016

In 2016, Opal Enriquez took over the Miss Belize franchise. [3]

2018-2022

In 2018, Romeo Escobar, a three-time Emmy award-winning producer took over the franchise of Miss Universe in Belize. [4] He left the franchise in 2023, citing disagreements with the Miss Universe Organization owners over how franchises should run. [5]

Miss Puerto Rico is a national beauty pageant in Puerto Rico. Currently, there are two separate televised pageants held annually: Miss Universe Puerto Rico to select the representative for Miss Universe and Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico to select the representative for Miss World. The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria – often abbreviated as MBGN – is a pageant organised by Silverbird Group with the main purpose of sending representatives to international competitions. Originally known as Miss Universe Nigeria, it was renamed Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria after news publishers Daily Times lost their license to send delegates from rival contest Miss Nigeria to Miss World. Since 2005, the pageant has produced multiple representatives, but the MBGN World recipient is considered the overall winner. Miss Universe Nigeria was reestablished in 2023, breaking away from MBGN and operating as an entirely different pageant.

The Miss Universo Chile or Miss Chile is a national beauty pageant that selects Chile's representative to the Miss Universe pageant.

The Miss Nederland is a national Beauty pageant in the Netherlands. The pageant was founded in 1929 in Amsterdam, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe.

The Señorita Panamá is a national beauty pageant in Panama. As of the 2023 edition, Miss Panamá winners represent Panamá in Miss Universe and the Señorita Panamá winners represent Panama in Miss International. The Miss Panama brand started in 1952, when the Panamanian Institute of Tourism received an invitation from Miss Universe to send a representative. In 1975, the Señorita Panamá name was used for the first time, reverting to Miss Panama in 1976. In 1982, Señorita Panamá was created by RPC Channel 4 as an alternative to send its winners to the Miss World contest in London. These pageants, along with smaller pageants such as Miss International Panamá and Miss World Panamá celebrated to select delegates for international representations.

The Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2023 is Natasha Joubert. On May 11, 2023, the Miss South Africa Organisation has lost its license as a Miss World licensee holder to Carol Bouwer Productions, which has taken over the license of Miss World South Africa pageant.

The Miss Universe Albania is a national Beauty pageant in Albania. The pageant was founded as Miss Albania in 2002, until rebranding as Miss Universe Albania in 2006.

The Miss Universe Slovenskej Republiky or Miss Slovak Republic was an annual beauty pageant held in Slovak Republic to select the country's representative to the Miss Universe pageant since 1994 to 2022.

The Miss Denmark is a national Beauty pageant in Denmark. The pageant was founded in 1926, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe and other titleholders to Miss World, Miss International and Miss Supranational.

Miss World 2015, the 65th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 19 December 2015 at the outdoor arena of the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. 114 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.

The Miss Diva is a part of Femina Miss India pageant that primarily selects India's representatives to Miss Universe, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants. The pageant also sends representative to Miss Supranational.

The Miss Equatorial Guinea is an annual national beauty pageant in Equatorial Guinea where the winner goes to Miss Universe pageant. The reigning queen is Alba Isabel Obama from Mbini.

The Miss Queen Korea is a national beauty pageant responsible for selecting South Korea's representative to the Miss Universe and Miss World pageant.

The Miss Malta Universe or Miss Universe Malta (MUM) is a beauty pageant competition. The contest selects the country representative for Miss Universe. The Maltese titleholder for 2023 is Ella Portelli of St. Julian's and will represent Malta at Miss Universe 2023, to be held in El Salvador.
