The mall has 125 stores as well as a large food court and is 798,881 square feet (74,218.5 m2), making it the third largest mall in New Hampshire after the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, and the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, which opened in 1991 and 1986, respectively. This was the first large-scale shopping mall in New Hampshire; initial construction of the mall was completed in August 1977, though it has since been dramatically expanded.

Wal-Mart was located at Hunt Valley mall until late October 2007, when it moved two miles south to Cockeysville, Maryland. Parkdale Mall is a mall located in Beaumont, Texas that opened in 1973. The owner of Parkdale Mall is CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. The mall's anchor stores include a Dick's Sporting Goods and Field & Stream combo Store, Dillard's, Five Below, Forever 21, HomeGoods, and JCPenney. Another anchor, Macy's, closed in March 2017. The former Macy's became a combination between the Dick's Sporting Goods and Field & Stream combo store, HomeGoods, and Five Below. KBTV-TV, the Beaumont-Port Arthur Fox affiliate, used to broadcast inside the mall, but now broadcasts at the KFDM studios. In addition, a Tilt Studio location opened in early 2017. Former anchors, Stage and Sears both closed in 2020. The Stage closed due to bankruptcy, and the Sears due to company downsizing.

It underwent a further renovation in 2019, adding H&M, Five Below, and Burlington. Other major stores at the mall are Best Buy, Belk, Dick's Sporting Goods, and J. C. Penney. Burlington replaced a Sears which closed in 2017. On June 4, 2020, JCPenney announced that it would close by around October 2020 as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide. In October 2021, Tilt Studios opened in the former space occupied by JCPenney.
