Pella is a town in Shawano County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 877 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Leopolis is located partially within the town. There is a census-designated place also called Pella in the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.8 square miles (95.2 km2), of which, 36.4 square miles (94.3 km2) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.9 km2) of it (0.95%) is water.
As of the census [2] of 2000, there were 877 people, 348 households, and 247 families residing in the town. The population density was 24.1 people per square mile (9.3/km2). There were 375 housing units at an average density of 10.3 per square mile (4.0/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 99.20% White, 0.11% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.23% Pacific Islander, 0.11% from other races, and 0.23% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.11% of the population.
There were 348 households, out of which 30.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.6% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.0% were non-families. 23.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 23.6% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 30.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
