Pink Anvil was a duo consisting of former members of the group Ministry - Paul Barker and Max Brody.
Ministry is an American rock band founded in 1981 by Al Jourgensen in Chicago, Illinois. Originally a synth-pop outfit, Ministry's sound changed as they became one of the pioneers of industrial metal in the late 1980s. The band's lineup has frequently changed throughout its history, with the exception of Jourgensen who is the band's main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. Notable musicians who have contributed to the band's studio or live activities include Paul Barker, Martin Atkins, Bill Rieflin, Chris Connelly, Nivek Ogre, Mike Scaccia, Rey Washam, Paul Raven, Tommy Victor, Roy Mayorga, John Bechdel, Jason Christopher, Tony Campos, Burton C. Bell and DJ Swamp.
Paul Gordon Barker, also referred to as Hermes Pan, is the former bass guitarist, producer and engineer of the industrial metal band Ministry from 1986 to 2003. Prior to Ministry, Barker provided bass for the Seattle post-punk ensemble The Blackouts alongside future Ministry drummer Bill Rieflin and his brother, one-time Ministry touring keyboardist/saxophonist Roland Barker, from 1979 until 1985.

The pair formed during a time of personal turmoil in Ministry, which due to drug abuse and record label disagreements nearly ended the group. Upon an invitation from one Dave Palmer (of the jazz group Earl Harvin Trio), they performed an experimental set at a small rave in Austin, Texas on Halloween, 2001. The recorded set was later released as Halloween Party on Ipecac Recordings in 2003.

Earl Harvin is a drummer, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist from the New York area who has lived in Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles and is now residing in Berlin, Germany.
A rave is an organized dance party at a nightclub, outdoor festival, warehouse, or other private property typically featuring performances by DJs, playing a seamless flow of electronic dance music. DJs at rave events play electronic dance music on vinyl, CDs and digital audio from a wide range of genres, including techno, hardcore, house, drum & bass,, bassline, dubstep, and post-industrial. Occasionally live performers have been known to perform, in addition to other types of performance artists such as go-go dancers and fire dancers. The music is amplified with a large, powerful sound reinforcement system, typically with large subwoofers to produce a deep bass sound. The music is often accompanied by laser light shows, projected coloured images, visual effects and fog machines.
Pink Anvil made another live appearance at the New Year's Eve Ipecac bash in San Francisco, California at Great American Music Hall. This show was also recorded and was released posthumously in 2014.

Brody has stated that plans for a third album were slightly recorded, though not completed as Barker had moved to Los Angeles in 2004. A finished version of these recordings was self-released by Brody under the title Cubed in 2015.
