John Bechdel (born August 23, 1964) is an American musician whose professional career in the music industry began in 1987. Since 2006, h has been the keyboardist for the industrial metal band Ministry. His other accomplishments include playing keyboards for Fear Factory, Killing Joke, Murder Inc. and Prong. Throughout his career, he has played on many studio albums and appeared in multiple music videos. He is also known for many other musical endeavors including his own band False Icons, John Bechdel (solo artist), Ascension of the Watchers [2] Nukes, [3] Brian Brain, Her Vanished Grace and Abstinence. His remix work includes Static-X, Ministry, Prong, Monster Voodoo Machine and Mass Dirge. He has also been producing bands including ChmclStr8jckt's Wrchd Thngs and Drk Prgrssn albums on Cleopatra Records. He received a Certified Gold Record for his work with Fear Factory on their Obsolete album which featured a remake of "Cars" with Gary Numan and, received he a Grammy Nomination for his work with Ministry for Best Metal performance. There is a documentary about Bechdel's career available on Vimeo called "Killing the Joke - The John Bechdel Story", produced by Darryl Hell.

Originally known for the long-running comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For, she came to critical and commercial success in 2006 with her graphic memoir Fun Home, which was subsequently adapted as a musical that won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2015. Originally a synth-pop outfit, Ministry evolved into one of the pioneers of industrial metal in the late 1980s. Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions is the eighth studio album by English post-punk band Killing Joke, released in November 1990 by Noise Records. After the commercial failure of their previous album Outside the Gate in 1988, singer Jaz Coleman and guitarist Geordie Walker were the last remaining members of the group. In December 1988, they recruited new musicians to perform a one-off concert in Porchester and premiered new songs, including early versions of "Extremities" and "The Beautiful Dead". The band didn't have any support of a record company anymore: Virgin had fired them and their label E.G. sued them. Coleman stated that it was a very stressful period of time for him and Walker. The new material was more intense, the band performed it live during a US tour in 1989. Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions was recorded in 1990 for a German independent label: bassist Paul Raven was called back before entering into the studio. Drummer Martin Atkins, formerly of Public Image Ltd and Ministry, had joined the band in 1988 and co-composed the songs with Coleman and Walker.

Prong discography

Prong is an American heavy metal band formed in 1986. The band was originally composed of founder Tommy Victor, along with Mike Kirkland (bass) and ex-Swans drummer Ted Parsons. Their first two studio releases, the EP Primitive Origins (1987) and debut studio album Force Fed (1989), were released independently and directed more towards the hardcore punk. The trio signed with Epic Records, and their first major label release, 1990's Beg to Differ, was a minor success, and received regular exposure on MTV's Headbangers Ball. Former Flotsam and Jetsam bassist Troy Gregory replaced Kirkland for 1991's Prove You Wrong. Gregory was soon replaced by ex-Killing Joke bassist Paul Raven, plus keyboardist John Bechdel for 1994's Cleansing. The album marked a change of direction towards a more industrial sound, being regarded as Prong's "most varied record". Prong would disband following 1996's "less inspired" Rude Awakening.

In addition to its function as an artist-run, artist-friendly independent label, 13th Planet encompasses several realms of the music industry including artist management, touring, music publishing as well as a full-scale rehearsal and recording studio.

Adios... Puta Madres is a live album by Ministry, released on March 31, 2009 on 13th Planet Records. The album was recorded at various locations on Ministry's farewell tour, dubbed the "C U LaTouR". Allmusic database and Windows Media database incorrectly list the title of the record as "Adios...Putas Madres". In 2009, "Señor Peligro" was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Metal Performance for the 52nd Grammy Awards.
