Pontamau is a small island off the coast of Ayeyarwady Region, Burma.
An island or isle is any piece of sub-continental land that is surrounded by water. Very small islands such as emergent land features on atolls can be called islets, skerries, cays or keys. An island in a river or a lake island may be called an eyot or ait, and a small island off the coast may be called a holm. A grouping of geographically or geologically related islands is called an archipelago, such as the Philippines.
Ayeyarwady Region, is a region of Myanmar, occupying the delta region of the Ayeyarwady River. It is bordered by Bago Region to the north, Bago Region and Yangon Region to the east and the Bay of Bengal to the south and west. It is contiguous with the Rakhine State in the northwest.
Pontamau is 0.6 km long and 0.3 km wide. It is separated from the mainland coast by a 0.75 km wide sound. [1]
The island is wooded and rises to a height of 54 m. It is fringed with reefs and lies about 5 km west of Bomie Bay. [2]
Myauk island is a small islet 0.8 km to the northeast of Pontamau's northeastern point.

Administratively, it is located in Kyunsu Township, Myeik District, in the Taninthayi Region. On the northeastern side of the island is the town of Kyunsu which is the administrative seat for the township. The island covers a total area of 409 km².

Sabi Island is an island in the Mergui Archipelago of Taninthayi Region, Burma (Myanmar). It lies between Money Island to the south and Parker Island to the north. The narrow channel between Sabi island and Money Island is rather shallow, but the half-mile wide channel between Sabi Island and Parker Island is quite deep. The island is heavily forested and has small bays with sandy beaches on the west side. The highest point is 326 m above the sea. Whaleback Reef, which lies about three-quarters of mile off the northeast part of the island, is exposed about 8 ft. at low tide.
