The Coral Sea Islands Territory is an external territory of Australia which comprises a group of small and mostly uninhabited tropical islands and reefs in the Coral Sea, northeast of Queensland, Australia. The only inhabited island is Willis Island. The territory covers 780,000 km2 (301,160 sq mi), most of which is ocean, extending east and south from the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef and includes Heralds Beacon Island, Osprey Reef, the Willis Group and fifteen other reef/island groups. Cato Island is the highest point in the Territory.
Klein Bonaire is a small uninhabited islet off the west coast of the Caribbean island of Bonaire, and is part of the Dutch special municipality of Bonaire. The islet, which sits within the rough crescent formed by the main island, is 6 square kilometres and extremely flat, rising no more than two meters above the sea. The only structures on the island are some ruins of slave huts, and a small open shelter on the beach facing Bonaire. The island has no running water or sanitation facilities.
Ailinglaplap or Ailinglapalap is a coral atoll of 56 islands in the Pacific Ocean, and forms a legislative district of the Ralik Chain in the Marshall Islands. It is located 152 kilometres (94 mi) northwest of Jaluit Atoll. Its total land area is only 14.7 square kilometres (5.7 sq mi), but it encloses a lagoon of 750 square kilometres (290 sq mi). The economy of the atoll is dominated by coconut plantations. The population of the atoll was 1,729 in 2011. Jabat Island is located off the coast of Ailinglaplap Atoll. The former president of the Marshall Islands, Kessai Note, was born on Jeh Island, Ailinglaplap Atoll.
Motu One is the name of a small sandbank with no vegetation located on the western edge of a coral reef. The reef is approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) in diameter and the islet or islets are less than a hectare in surface, rising only a few feet above sea level and changing shape regularly owing to the action of the currents.
Kayangel (Ngcheangel) is the northernmost state of Palau 24 km (15 mi) north of Koror. The land area is about 1.4 km2 (0.54 sq mi). The population is 138. The state consists of three atolls in different states of development:
Cheduba Island is an island in the Bay of Bengal close to Ramree Island and belongs to Myanmar, formerly Burma. It has a maximum length of 33 km (21 mi), with an area of approximately 523 km2 (202 sq mi)
Kalpeni is an inhabited Atoll in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, India. It has a distance of 2,079 km (1,292 mi) south of the city of Delhi.
The Ringgold Isles are an archipelago in Fiji, forming an outlier group to Vanua Levu. The Budd, Nukusemanu, and Heemskercq Reefs form part of the group. The group is mostly uninhabited, but Qelelevu has a small village. In 2008 Pacific Rats were eradicated from seven islands of the group in an endeavour facilitated by BirdLife International's Fiji Programme.
Onotoa is an atoll and district of Kiribati. It is situated in the Gilbert Islands in the Pacific Ocean, 65 km (40 mi) from Tamana, the smallest island in the Gilberts. The population of Onotoa in the 2010 census was 1,519.
Cay Sal Bank is the third largest and the westernmost of the Bahama Banks. It is located between 23º27'N - 24º10'N and 079º25'W – 080º35'W. In a geographical sense, it is separate from the Bahamas proper as it is much closer to Cuba than to the closest Bahamanian island. It is separated by Santaren Channel from the Great Bahama Bank, the western rim of which is 50 km (31 mi) to the east. The Straits of Florida separate it from the United States mainland and the Florida Keys.
Barker Passage is a channel through reef about a kilometre south of North Island in the Houtman Abrolhos. Its gazetted location is 28°19′15″S113°37′15″E, but it is actually located nearly 2½ kilometres west of there, at approximately 28°18′58″S113°35′54″E.
Namonuito Atoll, also called Namonweito, Weito, or Magur Islands, is the largest atoll of the Federated States of Micronesia and of the Caroline Islands with a total area of 2,267 square kilometres, unless one considers the still larger Chuuk (Truk) Lagoon as a type of atoll in an early stage of development. In Micronesia, only Kwajalein Atoll of the Marshall Islands is still larger.
The Indispensable Reefs are a chain of three large coral atolls in the Coral Sea. They are located about 50 km (30 mi) south of Rennell Island, separated from it by Rennel Trough. The chain stretches over a length of 114 km (71 mi) and its average width is 18 km (11 mi).
Bangaram is an atoll in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, India. It has a distance of 2,022 km (1,256 mi) south of the city of Delhi.
Than Kyun or Davis Island is an island at the southern end of the Mergui Archipelago, Burma. It is the largest and highest island of the Alladin Islands, a scattered cluster of islands extending to the W and SSW of Zadetkyi Island. This densely wooded island has two main peaks, each with a height of around 450 metres. The island has a roughly round shape with a diameter of about 6 kilometres. Off its eastern shore rises a 5.5-metre-high (18.0-foot) rock surrounded by a reef. Than Kyun lies 4.5 kilometres west of the southern end of Zadetkyi Island.
Wa Kyun is an island in the Andaman Sea, right off the coast of Mon State, in the southern area of Burma. This 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) long island is located in the midst of a shoal or shallow area. It is covered with dense forest and rises to a height of 135 metres (443 ft).
The Moscos Islands are an island chain in the Andaman Sea, right off the northern coast of the Tanintharyi Region, in the southern area of Burma.
The Elbow Cays are uninhabited cays in the Cay Sal Bank, Bahamas. They are part of a reef shelf located at the northwestern end of the bank about 80 km off the Cuban coast and 130 km southeast of Key West, Florida. These cays are an excellent scuba diving spot.
Western Kangaroo Island Marine Park is a marine protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state’s coastal waters adjoining both the west coast of Kangaroo Island and Lipson Reef, an islet located to the south of Kangaroo Island.
