Thayawthadangyi Kyun, also known as Elphinstone Island, [1] is an island in the Mergui Archipelago, Burma.
The Mergui Archipelago is located in far southern Myanmar (Burma) and is part of the Tanintharyi Region. It consists of more than 800 islands, varying in size from very small to hundreds of square kilometres, all lying in the Andaman Sea off the western shore of the Malay Peninsula near its landward (northern) end where it joins the rest of Indochina. Occasionally the islands are referred to as the Pashu Islands because the Malay inhabitants are locally called Pashu.
Thayawthadangyi is irregular in shape, hilly and thickly wooded. It is part of the northern group of islands of the archipelago.
Thayawthadangyi's area is 120 square kilometres (46 square miles). [2] The highest points, both rising on the western part of the island are 533-metre-high (1,749-foot) Elphinstone Peak and 430-metre-high (1,410-foot) False Peak.
Daung Kyun lies off Thayawthadangyi's southeastern shore.

Than Kyun or Davis Island is an island at the southern end of the Mergui Archipelago, Burma. It is the largest and highest island of the Alladin Islands, a scattered cluster of islands extending to the W and SSW of Zadetkyi Island. This densely wooded island has two main peaks, each with a height of around 450 metres. The island has a roughly round shape with a diameter of about 6 kilometres. Off its eastern shore rises a 5.5-metre-high (18.0-foot) rock surrounded by a reef. Than Kyun lies 4.5 kilometres west of the southern end of Zadetkyi Island.

The central cluster of large islands in the midst of the archipelago forms a compact whole, known as Zichy Land, where islands are separated from each other by very narrow sounds that are frozen most of the year.
