Pukara (Aymara and Quechua for fortress, [2] [3] Hispanicized spelling Pucara) is a 4,468-metre-high (14,659 ft) mountain in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the Oruro Department, Mejillones Province, Carangas Municipality, east of Carangas. [4]

Aymara language native language in South America

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Spanish, is one of the official languages of Bolivia and parts of Peru. It is also spoken, to a much lesser extent, by some communities in northern Chile, where it is a recognized minority language.

It lies south-west of the mountain Phaq'u Q'awa.

It lies east of a village of that name. The Ch'apiri River originates at the mountain.. It flows to Curahuara de Carangas in the north.
