Rocket Man: Greatest Hits Live was a concert tour by Elton John which lasted for three years from 2007 to 2010. [1]

Contents

While performing the Red Piano Europe [2] concerts, Elton also performed a concert series known as Rocket Man and at the same time performing on The Captain and the Kid Tour . [3]

The first performance took place on 28 September 2007 in Missoula, Montana.[ citation needed ] The final concert took place on 8 May 2010 in Boca del Río, Mexico. [4]

Background

The first Rocket Man took place on 28 September 2007 in Missoula, Montana. [5] The tour consisted of 23 concerts including 10 in North America, 2 in Asia and 11 in Oceania.

The tour ended with two solo performances in Tokyo, Japan at the Nippon Budokan [6] and eleven solo concerts in Australia. [7]

The 2008 leg of the tour consisted of 68 concert performances. [8] The tour started in January with a performance in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates [9] [10] before travelling to Europe and the North America to perform a series of solo concerts.

After touring North America by himself, Elton then continued the tour backed by his band before travelling to Asia and, for the second year running, Oceania. [11] After finishing the tour of Australia, Elton & the band briefly returned to the United States before returning once again to Europe. The tour also included two performances in Surrey, England. [16] [17]

On 4 May 2008 Elton performed in Chigwell, Essex at Alan Sugar's 40th Wedding Anniversary. [18] [19]

The tour ended on 15 November in Uncasville, Connecticut.[ citation needed ]

The 2009 leg of the tour started off with four performances in South America, it was only the fourth time that Elton had performed a tour in South America. [20] After touring South America, Elton moved into North America where he performed a series of concerts before continuing to Europe.

The European leg of the tour started with a large open-air concert in Limerick, Ireland at Thomond Park. [21] [22] Elton continued to perform two more open-air concerts in England. [23] [24] [25]

In the fall of 2009, Elton toured with Ray Cooper in Europe. [26] [27]

The 2010 leg of the tour was the last time that Elton John would tour the Rocket Man concert series. [28] The tour started with two performances in Hawaii with Ray Cooper. It was the first time that Elton had performed there in nine years.[ citation needed ]

The tour moved on to South Africa for five shows, where Elton again performed with Ray Cooper. [29] [30] [31] [32]

After returning from South Africa, Elton set out on the last leg of the Rocket Man tour. Elton was once again backed by his band. The first and last dates of this leg were performances in Mexico, where Elton had not performed a concert since 2001. [33]

The Red Piano was a concert residency by English singer-songwriter Sir Elton John. The residency took place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The idea for the show originated in 2004 by Elton John and David LaChapelle.

Elton John and his band set out on The One Tour just under a month prior to the album's release. The album proved a big success as did the world tour which lasted for two years.

On the back of the success of the album, Made in England, Elton John went out on tour to promote it. The 1995 leg of the tour covered fifteen European countries, but strangely missing out John's homeland of the United Kingdom. John with his band then crossed the Atlantic Ocean for an extensive tour of the United States, playing forty-two concerts in just under three months, including seven sold out concerts at New York City's legendary Madison Square Garden, which has become a staple venue for any Elton John tour.

The Tour De Force Tour was a concert tour by English musician and composer Elton John. The tour consisted in 28 shows scheduled in Australia accompanied with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

The Stately Home Tour was a 2000 concert tour by Elton John. After completing the Medusa Tour, Elton decided to tour some of the stately homes of Europe, mainly covering England and Germany. The tour started on 27 May 2000 in Bedfordshire and ended on 30 July 2000 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Songs from the West Coast Tour was a concert tour by Elton John that took place between 2001 and 2002 to promote John's latest album at that time, Songs from the West Coast.
