Sankayuni (Aymara sankayu the edible fruit of the thorny Jachakana shrub, [2] -ni a suffix to indicate ownership, "the one with the sankayu fruit", also spelled Sankhayuni) is a mountain in the Bolivian Andes which reaches a height of approximately 4,560 m (14,960 ft). It is located in the Cochabamba Department, Quillacollo Province, Quillacollo Municipality. Sankayuni lies northwest of Jatun Q'asa. [1] [3]

Aymara language native language in South America

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Spanish, is one of the official languages of Bolivia and parts of Peru. It is also spoken, to a much lesser extent, by some communities in northern Chile, where it is a recognized minority language.
