Sanyi (Chinese :三邑; pinyin :sānyì; Jyutping :sam1 jap1;lit.'Three counties') or Nanpanshun (Chinese :南番順; pinyin :Nánpānshùn; Jyutping :naam4 pun1 seon6;lit.'Nanhai Panyu Shunde'),also known by Cantonese romanizations such as Sam Yup and Nam Pun Shun,refers to the three districts (former counties) of Nanhai,Panyu and Shunde surrounding Guangzhou and Foshan in Guangdong,China.

The area gave rise to the Yuehai dialects,the most prominent of which is Cantonese (Guangzhou/Guangfu dialect). Standard Cantonese is based on the Yuehai dialects belongs to the Yue branch of Chinese,Cantonese speakers easily understand throughout Chinese part of Lingnan area.

Sai Kwan or Xiguan is an ancient town and an area in the Liwan district of Guangzhou,China,which was located west of the old walled city. The Thirteen Factories trading enclave was located on its southern shore and the Shamian enclave was constructed beside it. Xiguan continues to have a distinctive culture within Guangzhou and some residents speak a distinctive dialect of Cantonese.
The Xiguan accent or Xiguan dialect,is a sub-dialect of the Guangzhou dialect of Cantonese,spoken in Saikwan (Xiguan). Cantonese takes Guangzhou dialect as its standard and Guangzhou dialect once took Xiguan as its standard. With an increasing number of outsiders moving in,Xiguan dialect can only be heard among the older population and it is near extinction. The Guangzhouhua Zidian includes Xiguan alongside Nanhai and Hong Kong.
