Sri Sumedha Maha Vidyalaya is a government school in Matara, Sri Lanka. It was established in 1894.
The school was established in 1894 by the Methodist Church with eleven students and was known as Batathumbe Methodist College ( Sinhala : බටතුඹේ මෙතෝදිස්ත විද්යාලය) for several decades. The school became a government school in 1912 and the name was changed into Malimbada Sri Sumedha Maha Vidyalaya as a proposal of Mr Samarawickrama, a former principal of this school.[ citation needed ] Formerly, there were only primary and secondary classes, but the permission was granted to start Advanced Level classes on 10 January 1982. In 1990 R. K. Wijesekara took over as principal of the school.[ citation needed ]

Kalutara or Kalutota is a major city in Kalutara District, Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is also the administrative capital of Kalutara District. Sri Shariputhra Maha Vidyalaya is a secondary school in Imbulpe, Balangoda, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. It was established in the 19th century. At present, more than 800 students are studying at the college. According to ancient documents, it was the first school in Balangoda education zone. Many politicians, lawyers, scholars, physicians, engineers and other government officers have studied at this college. Government graduated teachers and other education colleges' teachers conduct the classes for students up to G.C.E. A-Level. Normally, 1st or 2nd level government education service officer is appointed as the principal of the college. there are Buddhist and Roman Catholic educational backgrounds. Also according to the department of education, students of the college follow the local syllabus and face to A-Level and O-Level examinations which are conducted by government of Sri Lanka. According to the history of the college, it was established as a boys' college, however after 1950's it was converted into the mixed school by the government. Also according to the official document and students roll of the college founded principal of the college was Mr. Silva and the first student was Mr. Appusincho. Also, the college has more than 15 acres premise in Madagedaragoda, Imbulpe. The college conducts science and computer laboratory class in the full facilitated laboratory. One of the laboratories was a present of Hon. Srimao Bandaranayake in 1975.

Arafa Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, commonly called Arafa MMV, is a coeducational school in Udunuwara, under the administration of the Central Province, Sri Lanka in the Kandy District. The school conducts classes from grade 1 to grade 13 in Tamil. In the 2019 General Examination of Advance Level exam, 15 students sat the examination and 13 got admission to the university and one student obtained a university admission entry to the faculty of law.
