The Srinagar Municipal Corporation [1] [2] [3] is the civic body that governs the city of Srinagar in Uttarakhand, India. Srinagar is the only hill-area in garhwal that has the status of municipal corporation.
This corporation consists of 40 wards and is headed by a mayor who presides over a deputy mayor and 39 other corporators representing the wards. The mayor is elected directly through a first-past-the-post voting system and the deputy mayor is elected by the corporators from among their numbers.

The Haldwani Municipal Corporation is the civic body that governs the city of Haldwani in Uttarakhand, India.
Charanjeet Kaushal is an Uttarakhand politician belongs to Indian National Congress. He served as the Councillor from Govindgarh ward of Dehradun Municipal Corporation (2013–18). He is continuously serving as the General Secretary of Dehradun Congress since 2010. In 2013 Dehradun Municipal Corporation election, he defeated veteran BJP leader Surendra Singh Kukreja with a margin of 262 votes.
