TVP Parlament is a Polish internet channel. [1] It is run by the public broadcaster TVP and it offered coverage of Polish politics. From 20 December 2023 the website of TVP Parlament redirects to the main TVP website, and in January 8, 2024 website is returned on online.

The mass media in Poland consist of several different types of communications media including television, radio, cinema, newspapers, magazines, and Internet. During the communist regime in Poland the Stalinist press doctrine dominated and controlled Polish media. The country instituted freedom of press since the fall of communism. Poland has entered the Junior Eurovision Song Contest nine times, competing in the first contest in 2003. In 2016, it was announced that Poland would return after an 11-year break. Poland is the first country in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to win twice in a row: in 2018 with Roksana Węgiel and her song "Anyone I Want to Be" and then in 2019 with Viki Gabor and her song "Superhero".

TVP Sport is a Polish sport channel, owned by TVP, launched on 18 November 2006. The channel is available on Platforma Canal+, Polsat Box, as well as over cable providers.

TVP Historia is a Polish free-to-air television channel that was launched in May 2007. It focuses on history programming.

TVP Info is a Polish free-to-air television news channel, run by the public state broadcaster TVP. It is focused on newscasts, mainly broadcasting nationwide news bulletins. Until 20 December 2023, its main offices were located in the Television Information Agency building at Warsaw Insurgents Square; since 29 December 2023 the channel's activities are carried out from the main TVP building on Woronicza Street, Warsaw.

Belsat is a Polish free-to-air terrestrial and satellite television channel aimed at Belarus. The channel is a subsidiary of TVP S.A. From the outset, it has been co-funded by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international donors.

TVP HD is a special High Definition version of the Polish public broadcasting channels. A digital terrestrial multiplex carrying the channel was available in Warsaw, Poznań, Zielona Góra, Żagań, Kraków, Leżajsk and Krosno from the 6 to 25 August 2008.

Television in Poland was introduced on an experimental basis in 1937. It was state owned, and was interrupted by the Second World War in 1939. Television returned to Poland in 1952 and for several decades was controlled by the communist government. Colour television was introduced in Poland in 1971. Private television stations in Poland appeared around the time of the fall of communism, with PTV Echo becoming the first private station in Poland.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Krajowe Eliminacje</span>

Krajowe Eliminacje was the name of the show that selects Poland's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. The first Krajowe Eliminacje was held in 2010. Between 2003 and 2004, the national selection was named Krajowe Eliminacje do Konkursu Piosenki Eurowizji and between 2006 and 2009 it was known as Piosenka dla Europy.

TVP3 is a Polish TV channel, run by the public broadcaster, TVP and dedicated to the country's regions. It has regional branches in most of the major Polish cities and, similarly to the France 3 in France or Rai Tre in Italy, for a couple of hours every day it broadcast regional programming, including local news and reports. On 20 December 2023, TVP3's signal was shut down and instead, TVP2 started being broadcast. On the same day, the website was shut down and started redirecting to the main TVP website, but on 26 December 2023, the channel returned to the air.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 Polish public media crisis</span> Takeover of Polish public media

On December 19, 2023, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in Poland, dismissed the then-current state media directors and their supervisory boards, most notably those of public broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP), appointing new ones in their place. The move was met with criticism and accusations of illegality by the dismissed management and the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, causing a parliamentary intervention in the TVP headquarters.
