Disco polo is a genre of popular dance music, created in Poland in the 1980s. It was initially known as sidewalk music or backyard music. This genre, a type of Polish urban folk music, had great popularity in the 1990s, peaking in 1995–1997, then gradually declining in popularity through the early 21st century. The genre then had a resurgence in the winter of 2007. The Polish PWN dictionary defines the genre as a Polish variant of disco music, with simple melodies and often ribald lyrics. The service Rate Your Music defines disco polo as a Polish variant of dance-pop.

TV Puls is a Polish commercial television channel, which was based on Telewizja Niepokalanów with the support of companies such as PKN Orlen, KGHM Polska Miedź, PZU Życie, Prokom and which started broadcasting in March 2001. Due to financial problems, it ended broadcasting on 1 April 2003. With the help of the private company Antena 1 and of the owner of Polsat, Zygmunt Solorz-Żak, TV Puls resumed broadcasting in June 2003. Until recently, the station's programming was largely devoted to Catholic issues, as the majority of the company's stock was owned by the Franciscan Order.

Since that day, it has been available in two DTH platforms: n and Cyfrowy Polsat. SD version of the channel was launched in January 2011 and is available in cable television companies and since February 2011 also in Polsat Box. The channel's accessibility is being expanded. On 7 November 2023, Fox was rebranded to FX.

It launched on 1 December 2007 and It was available on the platforms n, Cyfra+, Cyfrowy Polsat and cable networks UPC Polska, Multimedia Polska, Digital Vectra and Toya. After the merger of n and CYFRA+ to Nc+ the channel was removed from the offer of the new platform. On 12 March 2014 it returned to nc+ again.
