Talleyville is an unincorporated community located in the Brandywine Hundred of New Castle County, Delaware, United States. [1]

It was a distinct census-designated place for the 1990 U.S. Census. [2]

History

The Talleys were a prominent family in the Brandywine Hundred and provided the namesake of the community. [3] [4] In 1928, the Talleyville Fire Company was formed. [5] The William Hicklen House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. [6]

Geography

Talleyville is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 202, Mt. Lebanon Road, and Silverside Road to the north of Wilmington. [7] [8] [9] It is one and a half miles from the Pennsylvania state border. [10]

Demographics

The CDP had a population of 5,971 at the 1990 census. [11] The population of the ZCTA for ZIP code 19803 was 21,022 at the 2000 census. [12]

Education

Talleyville is in the Brandywine School District. [13]
