Quarryville was an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. [1] Quarryville is located along U.S. Route 13 Business between Bellefonte and Claymont. Quarryville is near Bellevue Lake, which was the site of the Bellevue Quarry. [2] [3] It was a small cluster of homes. [4]

Fort Delaware State Park

Fort Delaware State Park is a 288-acre (117 ha) Delaware state park on Pea Patch Island in New Castle County, Delaware, in the United States. A fortress was built on Pea Patch Island by the United States Army in 1815, near the conclusion of the War of 1812, to protect the harbors of Wilmington, Delaware and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The fort was burned and rebuilt in the years prior to the American Civil War, and soon after the start of the war the fort was converted to a Prisoner of War camp. Fort Delaware continued to protect the mouth of the Delaware River through World War I and II. Pea Patch Island and Fort Delaware was declared surplus land by the United States Department of Defense in 1945.

Fox Point State Park

Fox Point State Park is a Delaware state park on 108 acres (44 ha) along the Delaware River in New Castle County, Delaware in the United States. The park, which opened in 1995, has been built atop a former hazardous waste site that has been rehabilitated under an adaptive reuse program that was spearheaded by S. Marston Fox and the Fox Point Civic Association. Fox Point State Park is open for year-round use from 8:00 am until sunset. The park offers recreational opportunities on biking and pedestrian trails with picnic facilities, a playground and volleyball and horseshoes facilities. Fox Point State Park is just off Interstate 495 and is the northern terminus of Delaware's Coastal Heritage Greenway.

Bellevue State Park (Delaware)

Bellevue State Park is a 328-acre (133 ha) Delaware state park in the suburbs of Wilmington in New Castle County, Delaware in the United States. The park is named for Bellevue Hall, the former mansion of William du Pont Jr. Many of the facilities at the park were built by du Pont. Bellevue State Park overlooks the Delaware River and is open for year-round recreation, daily, from 8 a.m. until sunset. The Mount Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Church and Parsonage is located in Bellevue State Park; it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. Cauffiel House is a historic home in the park near Stoney Creek.

Hadley Mountain Mountain in New York, United States

Hadley Mountain is a mountain located in the southern Adirondacks in the U.S. state of New York and is the second highest peak in Saratoga County after neighboring Tenant Mountain. St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception is a historic Roman Catholic church located at 600 E Sixth St. in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. St. Mary's is the only active church in Delaware founded by Saint John Neumann, Bishop of Philadelphia 1852–1860, who consecrated it on October 31, 1858. The church and adjacent St. Mary's school were the principal institutions for worship and the education and integration of thousands of Irish immigrants in Wilmington, most of whom lived in the parish upon first arriving. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Chad House United States historic place

The Chad House, which was built by John Wyeth Jr. for John Chads, is located in Chadds Ford, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The house was built after 1712 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 11, 1971. John Chad's widow, Elizabeth, stayed in the house while it was in the line of fire during the Battle of Brandywine. The city of Chadds Ford relied on the spring ford on the property, and thus the city was named after John Chads.

Bellevue Lake

Bellevue Lake is a reservoir in New Castle County, Delaware north of Bellevue State Park near Bellevue. Created by the impounding of Stoney Creek in 1936, it has a capacity of 100 millions gallons of water. Bellevue Lake is a remnant of the Old Bellevue Quarry, which was allowed to fill. It is 0.2 miles (0.32 km) miles across and covers 11 acres (4.5 ha). The reservoir supplied the Wilmington and Suburban Water Comopany, which was founded in 1933 and has since absorbed into Suez Water. Located in a mostly suburban area north of Wilmington, it is surrounded by forest and is one of the last natural places in northern Delaware.
