Tecoanapa is a city and seat of the municipality of Tecoanapa, in the Mexican state of Guerrero. [1]

Guerrero, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Guerrero, is one of the 32 states that comprise the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. It is divided into 81 municipalities. The state has a population of about 3.5 million people. The Costa Chica of Guerrero is an area along the south coast of the state of Guerrero, Mexico, extending from just south of Acapulco to the Oaxaca border. Geographically, it consists of part of the Sierra Madre del Sur, a strip of rolling hills that lowers to coastal plains to the Pacific Ocean. Various rivers here form large estuaries and lagoons that host various species of commercial fish.

On September 26, 2014, forty-three male students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers' College disappeared after being forcibly abducted in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico, in what has been called "one of Mexico’s most infamous human rights cases". They were allegedly taken into custody by local police officers from Iguala and Cocula in collusion with organised crime, with later evidence implicating the Mexican Army. Officials have concluded "there is no indication the students are alive", but as of 2024, only three students remains have been identified and their deaths confirmed.

Las Vigas is a municipality in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It is located about 95 kilometres (59 mi) southeast of the state capital of Chilpancingo. Its creation from the municipality of San Marcos was approved in 2021 and went into force on 21 May 2022.
