The Investigators is an Australian consumer affairs television series, which aired on the ABC from 1985 to 1995.

The program's host and chief reporter was Helen Wellings, [1] who replaced original host Sonia Humphrey in 1987. Other reporters who worked on the program include foreign correspondent Eric Campbell, [2] politician Sarah Henderson, [3] reporter Leigh McClusky, and radio presenter Jon Faine. [4]

The Investigators was one of the ABC's highest-rating programs, [2] and presenter Helen Wellings claimed the program received an average of 500 complaints per week from consumers about products or services. [5]

The program won the 1993 Logie Award for Most Outstanding Achievement in Public Affairs. [6]

The program was cancelled in 1995, as a result of cost-cutting measures at the ABC which included the axing of the state-based editions of The 7.30 Report . [5]

Public voting for the "Most Popular" categories were conducted through an online survey from late November 2012 to 10 February 2013. Nominations were announced on 11 March 2013. Network Ten's Offspring received the most nominations with eight. Hamish and Andy's Euro Gap Year, Hamish and Andy's Caravan of Courage: Australia Vs New Zealand, Home and Away, Howzat! Kerry Packer's War, and Puberty Blues each received five nominations. Television presenter Brian Henderson was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame.

Sonia Denise Humphrey was an Australian television presenter, newsreader and journalist. Humphrey was a talented ballerina as a child and studied television production before working as an archaeologist for five years; during this period she also converted to Judaism. In the mid 1970s Humphrey worked as a television reporter and newsreader in Australia before presenting opera and ballet simulcasts for the Australian national broadcaster ABC. The management of ABC tried to remove Humphrey as a presenter of opera broadcasts due to her pregnancy, citing "aesthetic reasons". Humphrey pursued legal action against ABC, and the decision was reversed.

Glenn Taylor is an Australian Logie Award-winning former television presenter.
